【教学内容】
月份和日期的听说读写,以及如何庆祝生日。

重点:让学生熟练掌握各个月份和日期的英文表达,以及如何庆祝生日的方式。
难点:训练学生的听力理解能力和口语表达能力。
【教学过程】
Step 1 Lead– in
1. Greet the class in English.
2. Ask the students : How old are you When is your birthday
3. Tell the class what we will study this class.
Step 2 Work on la
1. Ask students to say the twelve months.
2. Play the recording. Students listen and repeat. Then circle the months and days of their own birthdays.
3. Work in pairs. Students check in pairs.
Step 3 Work on 1b
1. Explain how to tell dates. Tell them the difference between British way and American way by giving some examples, such as 8th March and March 8th.
2. Listen to the conversations and match the people with their birthdays.
3. Check the answers.

Step 4 Work on 1c
1. Tell students what they need to do in this part. Play the recording again. Ask students to listen and answer the questions.
2. Ask several students to share their answers. Then check their answers.
3. Read the recording script.
Step 5 Work on 1d
1. Students work in small groups. Ask them to ask each other's age and birthday, using the structure: How old are you When is your birthday
2. Ask students to line up from the youngest to the oldest.
3. Ask several students to give a report in class.
Step 6 Work on Pronunciation 1
1. Teach students how to pronounce/h/,/r/,/l/,/m/,/n/,/ /,/w/,/j/. Ask them to imitate them. Ask several students to read them.
2. Play the recording. Students listen and repeat.
3. Ask several students to read the pronunciation in Pronunciation 1. Correct their mistakes.
Step 7 Work on Pronunciation 2
1. Introduce the intonation.
2. Play the recording and ask students to listen and repeat the conversation.
3、Play the recording again. Let students repeat them.
4. Ask several students to act out the conversation. They should pay attention to the intona- tion in each sentence.
Step 8 Homework
1. Practise reading the conversations in 1b.
2. Practise the pronunciation/h/,/r/,/l/,/m/,/n/,/ /,/w/,/j/ and sample words.
【随堂作业】
根据汉语提示完成句子。
1. The students usually (庆祝) the end of the school year with a party.
2. My family always has a special dinner together on my (生日).
3. Giving a (礼物) is a nice way to show someone you care.
4. (二月) is a great month for snow sports because there is usually a lot of snow on the ground.
