3.学生能够再次阅读帖子,完成表格,并回答相关问题。
4.学生能够根据自己的生日庆祝方式完成思维导图。
5.学生能够撰写一篇回复,谈论自己的生日庆祝方式。
【重点难点】
重点:识别和理解关于生日庆祝活动的词汇和短语。
难点:学生能够撰写一篇连贯、有逻辑的生日庆祝方式回复。
【教学过程】
Step 1 Lead– in
1. Greet students and ask them about their last birthday celebration.
2. Introduce the topic: How do you make your birthday meaningful
Step 2 Work on la
1. Show the list of birthday activities ( such as eat birthday noodles, etc.).
2. Ask students to tick the activities they do on their birthday.
3. Discuss the ticked activities and ask students to share why they find them meaningful.
Step 3 Work on 1b
1. Present the online forum post and ask students to read silently.
2. Guide students to choose the main idea of the post (A, B, or C).
3. Discuss the chosen main idea and reasons for selecting it. The right answer is:A.
Step 4 Work on 1c
1. Ask students to read the post again and complete the table with relevant information.
2. Check the answers.

Step 5 Work on 1d
1. Guide students to answer the questions related to the post. Have a whole- class discussion to check answers and clarify any misunderstandings.
2. The answer for each question:
(1) Because long noodles mean a long life.
(2) They take a photo together under the big tree in their village.
(3) He thinks planting a tree for his birthday is a great idea.
(4) Because it's her favourite.
(5) She could travel with her friend or do some volunteer work for her school or neighbour- hood...
Step 6 Work on 2a
1. Explain the concept of the mind map and its benefits for organizing ideas.
2. Ask students to create a mind map about how they celebrate their birthday. Encourage students to use key words and phrases to represent ideas.
3. Display several students’ mind maps to check.
Step 7 Work on 2b
1、Model a reply to the online forum post, focusing on the structure and language used.
2. Ask students to write their own replies, discussing their birthday celebrations. Provide writing prompts and language support as needed.
3. Display several students’ writing to check.
Step 8 Homework
Assign students to revise their replies and prepare to post them on a class forum or share with a partner.
