The conversation in Unit1 is close students life, which will be popular with students. The development of one’s hobby plays an important role in students’ growth. It is good for their health both in body and in mind. Hobbies can make students be more confident, recognize themselves and accept themselves better. As a result, we can be a healthier and more out-going students. We also can make lots of friends, who have something in common. It’s a good topic for students to start a conversation. It is a good topic for me to set some real scene and stories for students to take part in. The conversation in Unit1 is among Betty, Tony and Lingling. Betty and Tony are visiting Lingling at her home. They found Lingling had lots of fans, so they have a conversation about her fans. Three of them have the same hobby: collection. They talk about their own collections: when to start collecting, where to get, why to get. Finally, they find the real meaning of collection: Their value is not always important, people also collect things just to remember something important in their lives. Unit2 is a passage about hobbies, which offers many kinds of hobbies. Hobbies are important to open up their eyes. It is mainly about David’s story. The structure is very clear, from general to personal. Para 1: the advantages of hobbies. Para 2: How did David start his hobbies Para 3: the results from his hobbies Para 4: his future for the plan The 4 Qs after the passage is helpful for students to understand the structure of the passage. Many of them are left-behind students. They spend more time on the computer instead of developing their own hobbies. However, with the development of the society, some of them tried their best to develop their own hobbies. They are more confident than those have no hobbies. Because they have more chance to show their talents. What’s more, our school also holds many activities to offer students more chance. Through M6, I hope I can help them have more attention on their own life especially their hobbies, and try my best to help them get a healthy life. The task of M6 is practical and meaningful. First, ask my students to know what is their hobby When to start, and why to start What advantage can it bring to students. Then, help them to know more about themselves and help them to know the different lives. A life without a hobby is just like life without salt. Finally, ask students to learn about his/her classmates’ hobby. And try to write a passage about his/her classmate’s hobby.
