Summarize the open and closed syllables.
1)以发音的元音字母结尾的重读音节。
例:be, he。
2)以元音字母+辅音字母(r除外)+ 不发音的e 结尾的音节。例:make,like。
★在重读的开音节中元音字母按字母名称读音。
Open Syllable
(开音节)
由一个单独发音的元音字母后没有辅音字母组成。 例:be, he,hi。
由一个单独元音字母后加大于或等于一个的辅音字母(不包括r)再加一个不发音的字母e组成。例:make,like。
绝对开音节
相对开音节
闭音节指的是以辅音字母(r,w,y除外)结尾,而中间只有一个元音音素的音节。
例:meet, bag, pet, sit, fox, bus等。

英文单词,每含有一个元音音素,就有一个音节。
含有一个音节,叫单音节词;
含有两个音节叫双音节词;
含有三个音节及以上的音节叫多音节词。
Syllable(音节)
在双音节或多音节中有一个发音特别响亮的音节,叫重读音节,用重音符号“'”标于重读音节的前面,其他音节为非重读音节。
所有的单音节词都需要重读,但不标重音符号。
