教学过程
Step 1 Lead in Have students introduce one of the new students in Class 1, Grade 7, at Sunshine Middle School. Step 2 View and read 1. Have students view Kitty’s and Amy’s pictures on page 14 and describe what they look like. 2. Have students read the introductions and find out: What is Millie writing about them 3. Have students correct the words in the table according to Millie’s introductions Step 3 Listen, write and say 1. Have students think about: What else do you want to know about them 2. Have students listen to the conversation between Millie and her mum and catch more information about Kitty and Amy. Before listening, you can try to predict some of the answers first. 3. Have students show their ideas: According to Millie’s introduction, do you want to make friends with Kitty and Amy Why or why not Step 4 View, listen and speak 1. Have students look at the picture on page 15 and answer the following questions. Who is the young lady Can you guess what they are doing 2. Have students listen to the conversation and answer the following questions: Why does Simon like playing football Why does Simon have to go now 3. Have students read the conversation loudly and think about the following questions: How to be polite while introducing someone to each other How to be polite while talking with someone for the first time 4. Have students work in groups of three and introduce each other. A: Hi/Hello/Good morning, … B: Hi/Hello/Good morning, ... This is … A: Glad/Nice to meet you, … C: Glad/Nice to meet you too. You like …, right A: Yes, I do./No, I don’t. … C: Great! A: We … I have to go now. Goodbye, ... Goodbye, … C: Bye. Good luck!/Enjoy yourself!/Have fun!/Have a good time!/… Step 5 Read, analyse and write 1. Have students read the table on page 15 and answer the question. What does Daniel plan to write about himself 2. Have students read Daniel’s self-introduction and analyse: What does each paragraph talk about Para. 1 greeting &basic information (name & class & age) Para. 2 favourite subjects & reasons Para. 3 hobbies Para. 4 new classmates and friends Para. 5 conclusion & hope 3. Have students read the useful expressions. 4. Have students write a self-introduction by themselves. 5. Have students read the sample writing. 6. Have students polish the writing according to the standards. Step 6 Homework Compulsory homework: 1. Complete and polish your self-introduction and share it with others. 2. Review the whole unit and preview the next unit. Optional homework: Make a poster to introduce yourself.
