教学过程
Step 1 Free talk 1. Have students look at the picture on page 6 and answer the following questions. What can you see in the picture What is the topic of this unit Can you guess what we may learn in this unit 2. Have students look at the four pictures in A on page 7 and answer the following questions. What can you see in the pictures Can you guess what they are doing
Step 2 Listen and label Have students listen to the dialogue in A on page 7 and match the teacher’s and the students’ names with the pictures. Step 3 Read and find Have students read the dialogue in A on page 7 and summarize how we should greet others for the first time and how we should introduce our names. Step 4 Listen and fill Have students listen to Millie and Sandy’s conversation in B on page 7 and complete the table. Step 5 Read and think Have students read Millie and Sandy’s conversation in B on page 7 and answer the following questions. What other greetings do Millie and Sandy use What else can we introduce about ourselves Step 6 Greet and introduce Have students work in pairs, greet their partners and then introduce themselves, encouraging them to use some more greetings and introduce more about themselves. Step 7 Learn and share Have students read a passage about different greetings in different countries or areas and match the pictures with the countries or areas and the ways of greetings. Step 8 Sum up Have students summarize what they have learnt in this lesson. Step 9 Homework Compulsory homework: 1. Work in pairs. Greet your partner and then introduce yourself. 2. Preview Reading on P8. Optional homework: Search online for videos with the key words “Greetings” and share them with your classmates.
