情态动词can表示能力
情态动词表示说话人对所说动作的观点。情态动词没有人称和数的变化,并且在句子中不能单独作谓语,必须和实义动词一起构成谓语。本单元我们学习的情态动词can意为“能够”,后跟动词原形,表示某人在某方面的能力。
句式:
◆ 肯定句式“主语 + can + 动词原形 (+其他).”。
I can swim.
They can play the guitar.
◆ 否定句式 “主语 + cannot / can’t + 动词原形 (+其他).”。
I cannot / can’t swim.
They cannot / can’t play the guitar.
◆ 一般疑问句“Can+主语+动词原形 (+其他) ”,肯定简
略回答为“Yes, 主语(人称代词) + can.”;否定简略回答
为“No, 主语(人称代词) + can’t.”。

◆ 特殊疑问句式为“疑问词(不作主语) + can +主语+动词

climb后面可跟 up、down 等介词,表示爬的方向。
