1.To read the words with / / or / / loudly and correctly. Step 1　Lead-in 1.Present some pictures and raise questions: (1)What can you see in these pictures (2)What are they doing 2.Guide students to make sentences with present continuous tense according to the pictures. 3.Then convert these sentences with present continuous tense into sentences describing things animals can do for human. Step 2　Pre-listening Brainstorm: What other animals do you know work for people Summarise: Working animals are great helpers to humans. Assess students’ comprehension of present continuous tense by their accurate description of the actions in the pictures using the tense. Further, evaluate their creativity and grammatical flexibility in transforming those sentences to illustrate how animals work for humans, considering their ability to convey ideas effectively and correctly. Assess the variety and relevance of animals they mention that work for people, as well as their ability to articulate the roles these animals play concisely and accurately.
Purpose Encourage students use descriptive language about animal behaviours, think on animal-human relationships and emphasise the utility of working animals.
2.To use listening strategy to prepare for listening. Step 3　Listening 1 Listen to the radio and choose the correct title.Then guide students to analyze the illustrations in listening exercises and give listening tip 1: find information from the instruction. Step 4　Listening 2 Listen again and complete the webpage for Bingjie. Check if students select the correct title based on the radio content. Further, evaluate their ability to interpret illustrations related to the listening material and apply listening strategies, such as extracting key information from instructions, demonstrating active engagement and clear understanding. Assess if students use the information in the book to do the listening exercises correctly.
Purpose Cultivate students’ ability to observe and analyze information, and their listening strategies.
3.To organise some questions to find out information. Step 5　Pair Work Work in pairs.Talk about another animal helper.Use the questions in the book to organise your ideas. Assess students’ usage of the provided questions to structure their dialogue, their incorporation of the present continuous tense to describe animal behaviours, and the clarity and correctness of the information they share about their chosen animal helper.
Purpose Cultivate students’ ability to express their ideas clearly and correctly, and the ability of working together.
Homework Required: Finish exercises in your book. Optional: Get to know other animal helpers to humans.

One day an old man sells(出售) a big elephant. A young man comes to the elephant and begins(开始) to look at it slowly(慢慢地). The old man goes up to him and says near(在……附近) his ear, “Don’t say anything about the elephant before I sell it, and then you can get some meat.” “All right,” says the young man. After the old man sells the elephant, he gives the young man some meat and asks,“How can you see the bad ears of the elephant ” “I don’t see the bad ears,” says the young man.“Then why do you look at the elephant slowly ” asks the old man.
