1.To talk about fes-tivals and holidays. Step 1 Free-talk 1.What is the festival in the picture It’s National Day. 2.Why do people celebrate National Day Because it’s the birthday of China. So this festival is very important for Chinese. 3.What will this unit talk about Festivals and holidays around the world. Step 2 1a Look at the pictures and answer the questions. What are the festivals in the pictures What do you know about these festivals Step 3 Brainstorming What traditional Chinese festivals or holidays do you know The Spring Festival The Dragon Boat Festival The Mid-Autumn Festival Tomb Sweeping Day The Lantern Festival Observe the students’ performance in answering the questions and learn what they know and don’t know about the festival according to the holiday information they say.
Purpose To stimulate students’ interest in exploring Chinese and Western festivals and holidays through interactive methods such as free discussions, picture observations, and brainstorming. To reflect on the significance of festivals. To promote a deep understanding and appreciation of the diversity of global festivals.

Purpose To foster cultural awareness and appreciation through interactive learning.
3.To learn how to introduce a festival.  Step 6 How to Introduce a Festival 1.Introduce its name and date. 2.Introduce the things to eat and activities to do during the festival. 3.Describe your feelings or the meaning of the festival. Observe whether the students have covered the main content in the summary, and the teacher will give necessary guidance according to the situation.
Purpose To guide the students to internalize the new structured knowledge, and pave the way for the following discourse learning.
