Unit 5 Fun Clubs
Period 2 Section A （Pronunciation-2e）
一、教材分析
What: 本课时语音练习及一篇对话篇章。语音部分任务1主要介绍了辅音音标/p/，/b/，/t/，/d/，/k/，/ɡ/，/f/，/v/，和辅音字母及字母组合的发这些音的规则，任务2主要介绍不完全爆破的发音特点。对话篇章主要是Teng Fei、Peter和Emma三人商量一起加入音乐社团，互相交流各自拥有的音乐才能。
Why: 通过本课时的学习让学生学会用情态动词can表示能力的核心句型描述自己和他人具备的才能。同时，展现了朋友之间互相鼓励、互相支持。
How: 通过三人之间的交谈复习询问和回答关于个人才能的目标语言；能根据社团招募新成员的要求，综合分析选择社团的理由，结合自身实际情况选择合适的社团。
二、教学内容
1. 发/p/，/b/，/t/，/d/，/k/，/ɡ/，/f/，/v/音的字母和字母组合以及不完全爆破的发音特点。
2. 能够清楚地阐述自己和同学的能力以及社团选择。
三、教学目标
1. 掌握以下重点单词及短语：
news，exactly，ability，paint，musical instrument，have no idea，sing well，play chess，paint well，read with feeling，start a music club，play the guitar.
2. 掌握下列句型：
①—What club do you want to join —I want to join the sports club.
②—What instruments can you play —I can play the drums.
③—She can play the violin，right —Yes，she can.
④—Can you… —Yes，I can./No，I can't.How about you
3. 能根据对话信息提取重点内容，并分类，归纳总结。
4.能够分析和评价他人的观点，并反思自己的选择。系统地陈述自己的观点和理由，比如为什么自己有某种能力，为什么想加入某个俱乐部。认识到社团在校园文化中的重要性，以及不同类型社团所代表的文化内涵。
四、教学重难点
重点：
1. 能够区分一些发音相似但略有不同的辅音字母组合。
2. 能够掌握描述能力和俱乐部的相关词汇和表达，如“能力”、“加入”、“音乐俱乐部”、“体育俱乐部”等。
3. 能够使用句型来谈论能力和他们想加入的俱乐部，例如“我能/不能……” “我想加入……俱乐部”。
难点：
1. 能够准确地将所学的辅音字母组合的发音规则应用到实际单词中，避免发音错误。
2. 能够准确流利地用英语表达自己的能力和加入俱乐部的意愿，避免语法错误和词汇的不当使用。
3. 能够理解不同能力与社团之间的逻辑关系，并系统阐述。

六、教学过程
Step 1 Greeting and lead-in
T: Good morning, class. How are you, today
Ss: Fine, thanks. And you
T: I’m fine too. Sometimes we can pronounce right when we speak English right
Ss: Yes.
T: Today, we’ll learn phonetic symbols that can help us pronounce.

Step 2 Pronunciation
1. Work on 1
（1）Listen and conclude.
Play the pronunciation of the following words: park；cap；apple，let students repeat.
T: What pronunciation does these words have in common
Ss: They all have /p/.
T: Great. They all have /p/. Now, look at these words, do you know which words can pronounce /p/.
Ss: p；pp.
Conclude the other seven words’ pronunciation in the same way.
（2）Practice
Let students listen to the recording and repeat after the recording.
【设计意图】通过学生跟读并归纳总结，提升学生的参与感。
2. Work on 2
（1）Let students listen to the recording and mark the silent letters.
（2）Let students repeat after the recording.
（3）Ask some students to read the phrases and sentences. The teacher helps to correct their mistakes if necessary.
【设计意图】学生通过跟读音标及对应单词，有效地练习这四组清浊辅音的发音，理解不完全爆破现象。
Step 3 Listening（2a）
1. Predicting.
Ask students look at the picture in 2a and answer the following questions.
（1）How many people are there in the picture
（2）What are they doing
【设计意图】通过看图片并回答问题，提高学生的听前预测能力，进一步提升学生的听力技巧。
2. Look through the conversation quickly.
3. Listen to the conversation and fill in the blanks.
4. Let students share the answers and the teacher corrects the answers and their pronunciation if necessary.
Check the answers: I have no idea; What about you; I’d love to; That’s great
Step 4 Reading
1. Work on 2b.
Let students read the conversation and complete the table in 2b.

2. Work on 2c
（1）Let students listen to the conversation again and pay attention to the letters that are silent.
（2）Let students role play the conversation. Choose some students show in class and choose the best pairs according to their pronunciation, tone and fluency.
【设计意图】通过阅读对话，完成相应练习，学生能逐渐掌握发音技巧：注意不完全爆破。
Step 5 　Speaking(2d～2e)
1. Work on 2d
（1）Let students finish the task in 2d.
T：Do you have these abilities What club do you want to join Circle can or can't with your own information，and then tick the club(s) you want to join. You can add more items if you want.
（2）Ask two or three students to share their answers in class.
(Students share their answers with complete sentences.)
2. Work on 2e
Ask students to discuss the clubs they want to join in pairs using the sentence patterns in 2d&2e.
【设计意图】通过讨论分享自己想参加的社团和自己的能力，学生能巩固本节课的重点句型，发现自己的闪光点。
Step 6 　Summary
Let students make a summary about what they have learned today.

Step 7 Homework
1．Choose two of the classmates and write a short essay to introduce the clubs they want to join and explain the reasons.
2．Do the exercises in students' workbooks.
