Teaching procedures
Step1 Lead-in(5mins)
After greeting students, the teacher will show a video about school days and ask questions:What are some interesting classes at your school What activities do you often do after school
Then the teacher will invite some volunteers to share their answers. After that, the teacher will give corresponding comments on students' answers and show the topic of this lesson.
Step2 Pre-reading(8mins)
New knowledge teaching
With the help of the PPT and textbook, the teacher will guide students to understand the meaning and usage of the new words and sentences.
Prediction
(1) Before reading, the teacher will organize students to make predictions about school day activities.Some hints will be provided to help them.
(2) Look at these pictures and try to answer the question: What other school activities does Millie have
(3)Teacher’s questions to students: “What other school activities dose Millie have ”
Step3 While-reading(17mins)
Students should read this passage again and do the following task:
1.Skimming
Ask students to read the text quickly within 2 minutes to check their prediction and summarize the main idea of this passage.
2.Scanning
Ask students to locate certain information by reading this passage quickly and answer the following questions: What kind of article is it

Millie should get to school before 8:15.
Millie’s favourite subject is English.
The students read many great works in Chinese classes.
The students have a Biology lesson once a week.
The students are going on a field trip to a park.
Millie enjoys life at her new school.
Step4 Post-reading(10mins)
Students need to work in groups to discuss the questions below. Several minutes will be given. When time’s up, some students will be invited to share their results. Then the teacher will comment on students’ performance.

Step5 Summary and homework(5mins)
Summary
The teacher can ask students to acts as assistants to conclude what they have learned from this class, and then make a summary together.

Reflection
成功About the teaching reflection,it is necessary to return to the teaching objectives.Through different teachings tasks,I find the teaching objectives have been basically achieved.For example, through the instruction of reading skills, students are helped to focus on obvious information and hints in the process of reading to improve their reading efficiency; through detailed reading, students develop their ability to acquire and organize information; through group activities, students are encouraged to learn through cooperation and develop their teamwork skills.
不足However, some students may not be able to achieve accurate and fluent output due to different learning foundations. In order to address these issues, I will engage in more oral communication activities in my future studies.
