Teaching Procedures Step 1: Warm-up Start the class by having a short conversation with students about money. Ask them questions like: "Do you have pocket money How do you spend it " This will help activate their prior knowledge and get them engaged in the topic. Step 2: Vocabulary Assessment 1. Present a multiple-choice quiz on the key vocabulary of the unit. For example: The ____ of the dress is too high. I can't afford it. A. money B. price C. cost D. discount She likes to ____ stamps. A. collect B. try on C. poor D. size 2. Have students complete a gap-filling exercise to test their understanding of word usage. For instance: This pair of shoes is too small. Can I try on another ____ (pair) The ____ (poor) children need our help. Step 3: Grammar Assessment 1. Give students some sentences and ask them to identify the tense and explain the usage. For example: "I always save money." (Simple present tense, expressing a habitual action) 2. Ask them to complete sentences using the correct form of verbs. For instance: How much ____ (be) these apples How many books ____ (do) you have Step 4: Reading Assessment 1. Provide a reading passage related to money management and ask students to answer comprehension questions. The passage could be about a student's experience of saving money or comparing prices when shopping. 2. After they finish reading, have them discuss the main idea of the passage in pairs and then share their thoughts with the class. Step 5: Writing Assessment 1. Ask students to write a short paragraph about how they plan to spend their pocket money wisely in the future. 2. Provide some guiding questions to help them organize their thoughts, such as: What do you want to buy Why How much will it cost How will you save the money Step 6: Listening Assessment 1. Play an audio recording about a shopping trip or a conversation related to money. 2. Have students answer multiple-choice or short-answer questions based on what they hear. Step 7: Feedback and Summary 1. Review the answers to all the assessment tasks and provide feedback to students. Highlight common mistakes and explain the correct answers. 2. Summarize the key points of the unit again and emphasize the importance of being wise with money. Step 8: Homework Assign some additional practice exercises or ask students to read an article about money management and write a summary. VI. Teaching Reflection After the lesson, reflect on the students' performance in the assessment tasks to identify areas where they need further reinforcement and improvement.
