【教材分析】
The theme of this unit is teenage life,belonging to the thematic context of "people and themselves".
As teenagers who shoulder the heavy responsibility of the "Chinese Dream",they must fully understand themselves,including their strengths, weaknesses,and challenges.They should constantly improve themselves, be willing to learn their own subjects,and cultivate lifelong learning strategies and confidence.
This period is known as the freshman challenge period,which mainly focuses on the major challenges faced by high school freshmen. During this period,teachers should guide students to identify their challenges and guide them to figure out how to cope with them and improve themselves.More importantly,teachers should guide students to absorb new language points and appreciate language.In addition, teachers must guide students to effectively master some reading skills and motivate them to talk more about their new school life,especially the new problems and solutions they encounter in school and life.
【教学目标与核心素养】
1.Enable students to master the basic usage of new words and phrases related to freshmen challenges,and learn how to use them flexibly.
2.Enable students to better understand the challenges faced by new high school students,which is different from junior high school students.
3.Cultivate students' awareness of cooperative learning and independent thinking ability.

Let students browse and read the article,summarize the main ideas of each paragraph,and then discuss with their partners.
Tip:You can quickly browse through the titles,images,keywords, phrases,and topic sentences to find the main points.
2.Intensive reading
This time,let the students read carefully,understand the main details of each paragraph,and then complete the following content.
