Greetings T: Good morning, class! How are you today Ss: Good morning, teacher! I'm fine, thank you. And you T: I'm great. Let's start our class. 2. Sing an English song Play the song "Hello" and let the students sing along. (二)Presentation 1. New words learning Show pictures and introduce the new words "grade", "full", "last name" and "full name". For example, show a picture of a school and say "I'm in Grade 7." Then ask the students to repeat. Show a glass full of water and say "The glass is full." Write a name on the blackboard, such as "John Smith", and explain "Smith is his last name and John is his first name. His full name is John Smith." Have the students read the new words several times and correct their pronunciations. 2. Introduction part (1a) Show the expressions on the PPT, such as "hello", "good morning", "nice to meet you", "may I have your name", "how do you spell your name", "how old are you", "where are you from", "what class are you in". Ask the students to check the expressions they know and have a brief discussion in pairs. Invite several pairs to share their answers and explain why. (三)Pre-listening 1. Picture sequencing (1b) Show two sets of pictures related to the dialogues. Explain the task: Listen to the dialogues and sequence the pictures. Play the audio twice. The first time, the students just listen. The second time, they sequence the pictures. (四)While-listening 1. Circle the words heard (1c) Play the dialogues again. Ask the students to circle the words they hear, such as "Peter's full name is Peter Brown / Green", "Peter is from the UK / the US", "Meimei is in Class 1 / 2, Grade 7 / 8", "Ella's last name is Smith / Miller", "Ella is 12 / 13 years old". Check the answers with the whole class. (五)Post-listening 1. Summary of ways to ask for information Write the expressions for greeting, asking for names, and other information on the blackboard. Explain the usage and differences of these expressions. Have the students take notes and practice reading them. 2. Introduction to the difference between Chinese and English names Explain that in English names, the family name comes last, while in Chinese names, the family name comes first. Show some examples, such as "Li Ming" and "James Green". Introduce the titles "Mr.", "Mrs.", "Miss" and "Ms." and their usage before the family name. 3. Dialogue practice (1d) Divide the students into pairs. Provide the dialogue examples on the PPT and ask the students to practice according to the examples. Walk around the classroom and offer help and guidance. Invite several pairs to perform their dialogues in front of the class. (六)Summary and Homework(5 分钟) 1. Summary Review the key points of this lesson, including new words and expressions. Encourage the students to keep practicing in daily life. 2. Homework Write a short passage to introduce yourself, including your name, age, grade, class and where you are from.
