Analysis of material 1.The main content It focuses on the monarch butterfly. This text talks about the monarch butterfly's migration and how to protect them. 2.The type of the text The genre of this text is a novel. This passage divides into four parts: information about migration, the monarch butterfly's migration, The monarch butterfly's troubles & causes, measures of protecting the monarch butterfly. 3.The purpose of the text By understanding and analyzing the text, the students will realize the process of monarch butterfly's migration, and form the awareness of protecting wild animals.
Analysis of students Student status Merits: The students are active and curious and they have mastered some simple words and expressions to read this text. Shortcomings: They lack knowledge of monarch butterfly. Solutions: Teacher shows a video about monarch butterfly to students and encourage students to take part in the class actively.

Reflection
According to the teaching design, the teaching of reading will be done in a flexible way. This lesson focuses on monarch butterfly. Most of the students can involve in the class, but some of them still dare not to speak. The teacher should encourage students to speak more and gain more confidence from learning English.
