Analysis of material The main content This unit focuses on Language learning strategies. It mainly talks about ways to learn English. The purpose of this unit By understanding and analyzing the dialogue, students will find out some information about learning English and they will be able to express their ideas about how to learn English.
Analysis of students Student status Merits: The students are active and curious. They have mastered some simple words and expressions to learn this lesson. Shortcomings: They might lack of skills to express their ideas about how to learn English. Solutions: Task 1 Discussion---lead students to learn and think critically. Task 2 Making a dialogue---encourage the students to take part in the class actively.
Teaching objectives By the end of the class, students will be able to 1. Sort out the ways to learn English well. (Understanding) 2. Analyze the problems they will face in learning English. (Analyzing) 3. Act out the dialogue by using the sentence patterns learned in this lesson and form the awareness of learning English actively and facing problems positively. (Applying) 4. Express their ideas about how to learn English and how to solve the problems by using the key words, phrases and sentence patterns learned in this lesson. (Transferring & creating)

What is the dialogue mainly talking about Key: It mainly talks about the ways to learn English. 2. Listen for the second time and find out how many ways have mentioned in the dialogue. Tips: Listening: (example) listen to the radio Speaking Reading Writing 3. Listen again and find out what kind of problems they are facing in learning English. (1) Spell and pronounce the words in a wrong way. (2) Poor vocabulary. Listening practice 1. Listen to the dialogue and answer the question. What is the dialogue mainly talking about S: It mainly talks about English learning. 2. Listen for the second time and find out how many ways have mentioned in the dialogue. S1: --- S2: --- S3: --- S4: --- 3. Listen again and find out what kind of problems they are facing in learning English. S1: They can’t understand the new words. S2: They often make mistakes in spelling.
