Analysis of material The main content It focuses on accidents. This text talks about Henry was bit by a snake and how he dealt with it. The type of the text The genre of this text is narrative. This passage can be analyzed from four parts--- when, what, why and how. The purpose of the text By understanding and analyzing the text, the students will know how Henry deals with the accident, and cultivate students to deal with accidents calmly.
Analysis of students Student status Merits: The students are active and curious and they have mastered some simple words and expressions to read this text. Shortcomings: They might lack of skills to express an accident and how they deal with it. Solutions: Task 1 Retelling---deepen students’ understanding of the text. Task 2 Discussion--- lead students to learn and think critically Task 3 Report--- encourage students to take part in the class actively.
Teaching objectives By the end of the class, students will be able to Generalize the main idea of Henry’s accident and how he deal with it. Reflection According to the teaching design, the teaching of reading will be done in a flexible way. This lesson focuses on accidents. Most of the students can involve in the class, but some them still dare not to speak. The teacher should encourage students to speak more and gain more confidence from learning English.
