Maryanne: Well, if we choose a pre-paid plan, the Internet bill will be 50. There is no cable TV in the apartment. You’ll save on it. But I will spend about 300 on groceries.
Vanna: I guess I will spend the same on groceries as you do. That’s all right. Oh, no, I didn’t expect my cell phone bill would be 120 per month.
Maryanne: It includes long-distance calls to your friends abroad, right
LESSON

C
Vanna: Yes, I like making friends here and abroad, and having phone or video call with them.
Maryanne: So you also spend a lot on entertainment with friends here

Read about Peter.
C
Peter is a photographer who has dedicated his life to the protection of wildlife and animal habitats. “I often have to step into the lives of my subjects, so my days often mirror what is normal for others, be it people or wildlife.” But what is normal for animals is often not normal for people.
One of Peter’s favorite but also most challenging experiences was camping in the wild. He lived alone in a large tent for five months over two years to photograph a herd of elephant. He didn’t have to pay rent, but he had to get permission to camp. And even though he was far away from any towns or cities, his location was very convenient for work. He also had a very large backyard!

Challenge
Read about Peter.
C
While he was camping, a weeklong storm destroyed his tent. He also encountered a pack of 12 wolves, but he wasn’t scared. “I saw them not as subjects of study or entertainment or even amazement, but rather as fellow animals sharing the land.”
Many people believe that humans are better than animals. But instead of wildlife and humans being separate living things, Peter believes that people are equal to wildlife. He hopes to share this message through his photographs.
