Step1 Lead-in Have students look at the two pictures in part a on page 50 and describe them Step 3 Presentation Have students read the school field trip notice in part a on page 50 and answer the following questions. what can the grade seven students do on the autumn field trip Students can visit an Apple farm, learn how to grow apples and help pick apples What can the grade seven students do on the spring field trip Students can have a tour of the fields, learn how to plant trees and help plant trees What do you like about your field trips Why I like being outside because I can enjoy the beauty of nature Step 4 listening Have students learn some listening skills Have students read Sandy's notes in part B on page fifty, and try to fill in some blanks according to the information in part A and predict other answers. Have students read the tape in part b on page fifty and find other words in the notes that have follow the content. Have students learn how to write down the answers quickly 4. Have students listen to the recording and finish part b on page fifty Step 4 Saying Have students discuss the following question what other things can students learn from picking apples They can learn how to work together, they can also learn to share things with others Have students listen to Sandy, Amy and Simon's conversation in part C on page fifty one and complete the table studentslikesreasonsAmySimonSandy
Have students read the conversation along with the recording and then read in different roles. Have students find some useful expressions to talk about what they like about school field trips and why. What do you like about… I love… because…. It's nice to… I can enjoy It feels good to… How students work in groups and discuss their school field trips using the expressions above A: What do you like about school field trips B: I like exploring new places and learning by doing. I can try out new activities and learn different skills. A: That's true. What about you B:I love the fresh air and beautiful scenery. They make me feel happy and relaxed. A: Sure. And I like working together with my classmates. It builds strong friendship and teamwork skills.
