Through pair work and group activities, students can improve their speaking and cooperative skills. 3. Emotional Objectives Encourage students to take care of their belongings and respect others' property. Develop students' sense of cooperation and competition. 二、Teaching Key Points 1. Master the usage of possessive pronouns and adjectives. 2. Be able to use the target language in real situations. 三、Teaching Difficult Points 1. Distinguish the differences between possessive pronouns and adjectives. 2. Use the correct possessive form according to the context. 四、Teaching Methods Task-based teaching method, Communicative teaching method, Situational teaching method 五、Teaching Aids PPT, pictures, real objects 六、Teaching Procedures Step 1: Lead-in (5 minutes) 1. Show some pictures of school things on the PPT and ask students: What's this Then lead students to review the words they have learned before, such as pen, pencil, eraser, etc. 2. Present a dialogue: A: Is this your pen B: Yes, it is. Ask students to repeat the dialogue and then have a pair work to practice similar dialogues. Step 2: Presentation (15 minutes) 1. Present the possessive pronouns and adjectives on the PPT. Explain the differences and usages of my, mine, your, yours, his, his, her, hers. For example: This is my pen. The pen is mine. That is your book. The book is yours. His pencil is on the desk. The pencil is his. Her eraser is in the pencil box. The eraser is hers. 2. Ask students to observe the sentences and summarize the rules of using possessive pronouns and adjectives. 3. Do some exercises on the PPT to consolidate the understanding of the new knowledge. Step 3: Practice (15 minutes) 1. 3a: Have students complete the conversations in 3a individually. Then check the answers together. 2. 3b: Ask students to look at the picture and practice the conversations in pairs. Encourage them to make their own conversations based on the picture. 3. Group work: Divide students into groups of four. Each group is given some school things. Students take turns to ask and answer questions using the target language. For example: A: Is this his eraser B: No, it isn't. It's hers. C: Is that your pencil D: Yes, it is. Step 4: Production (10 minutes) 1. Present a situation on the PPT: There are some lost and found things in the school. Students need to help find the owners. 2. Ask students to work in pairs. One student acts as the finder and the other acts as the owner. They have to make conversations using the possessive pronouns and adjectives. 3. Invite some pairs to perform their conversations in front of the class. Step 5: Summary and Homework (5 minutes) 1. Summarize the key points of this lesson: the usage of possessive pronouns and adjectives and the target language. 2. Homework: Write five sentences using possessive pronouns and adjectives.
