1.该板块的主题是“理解(读懂)肢体语言”(Understand body language)。阅读文本是一 篇说明文。该语篇从肢体语言的基本功能入手，主要从地域文化角度举例说明常见肢体语言 在不同文化背景中的差异和共性，探究肢体语言的地域文化属性和运用的得体性。
2.本板块学习大致按照以下流程展开：以Brainstorm(How to communicate with others in a silent world)导入主题-略读把握语篇结构和文本大意一细读提取文本细节-总结肢体语言的 功能、意义等-小组活动探讨肢体语言在社交中的功能一运用所学话题词汇根据场景评判和 描述肢体语言的得体性。
3.本板块的重难点是通过略读、细读掌握文本的结构特点以及语言风格，在真实场景中正 确评判各种肢体语言的文化特征，恰当描述不同文化中的肢体语言并给出建议，形成恰当的 跨文化交际意识，正确使用非语言形式进行得体交流，这部分可以通过小组讨论，结合生活 观察与经验进行突破。
4.预习要求：学生需要提前自学本单元词汇，并梳理话题词汇网络，同时和同伴探讨肢体 语言在日常交际中的意义。

Just like spoken language,body language varies from culture to culture.
The gesture for“OK”has different meanings in different cultures.
Even the gestures we use for“yes”and“no”differ

Advice on body language in China
In China,when people meet,it is proper for us to shake hands with others rather than kiss on the hand.You have to pay attention to the social distance,which is very different in China and in the West.It's good manners to keep smiling and have eye contact when talking to others.
When we sit or stand,we'd better not sit with crossed legs or stand with crossed arms.
