Analysis of the teaching material The teaching content is the reading section Living legends of Unit 3 Sports and Fitness from New Senior English For China Students Book 1 (see Appendix 1). This lesson is the second period of Unit 3,and its a reading lesson.This text selects two famous athletes:Lang Ping and Michael Jordan.This two athletes,one man and one woman,not only have remarkable achievements in sports,but also have many shining personal traits and charms.Lang Ping has won world championships as both athletes and coaches,and this article highlights her teamwork spirit and determination to face difficulties and not give up."Flying Man"Jordan is an evergreen tree in the American basketball league,and this article focuses on his spirit of not fearing defeat and persevering.Students should not only worship these sports stars, but also understand and understand the principles of life and work from these "living legends",so as to establish their own rationality and constantly pursue their dreams.These are the thematic meanings of these two paragraphs.
Analysis of the learning status Currently students are in Grade 1,senior high school. The students are familiar with the teaching mode of senior high school and have basic writing skills.However,most students lack knowledge on how to organize their works logically and coherently.Compared with junior middle school students,their cognitive ability has been greatly improved,and they have gradually formed the ability to acquire information , process information,analyze problems and solve problems in English,and teachers should pay more attention to their thinking and expression skills in the classroom.Through task-based classroom activities,they learn reading skills,improve reading skills,and also allow students to actively participate in activities,reflect students'subjectivity and strengthen cooperation and communication skills.
