The picture, text and reading exercises in 1b-1c allow students to distinguish characters and find out whether the details are right or wrong. 1d asks students to take turns to describe the photo in 1b.Why: 1b is about Lily introducing her family photo. Students are expected to acquire, sort out, and identify key information through the picture and reading, and accumulate sentence patterns about introducing families in preparation for the writing session.How: The text introduces and explains Lily's family photo. The structure, vocabulary, and grammar are relatively simple, and the language is not very formal. It's close to life, and easy for students to imitate. The structure and key phrases of the writing can be found in the article in 2a.Why: Students are expected to complete the essay on introducing family members by making an outline, refining the outline, and reviewing and editing the essay, so as to internalize the key words and phrases learned in this unit, and feel and express the love for the family.How: The sample essay in 2a has a simple structure with three parts: the beginning, the body and the ending.
