教学目标
Students will know: the pronunciation rules of short vowels in closed syllables and recognize phonetic symbols for short vowels / /, /e/, / /, / / ,/ /. Student will understand: the pronunciation differences between short vowels in closed syllables and long vowels in open syllables. Student can do: Accurately identify and use the pronunciation of short vowels in closed syllables during reading and listening exercises. Affective Objective: Develop interest and confidence in learning English pronunciation.

教学重点： 1 Master the pronunciation rules of vowels in closed syllables, including the identification and articulation of short vowels. 教学难点： 1. Distinguish between the pronunciation of short vowels in closed syllables and long vowels in open syllables, and accurately apply these pronunciation rules in practical language use.

After watching it, students need to answer question: What is this video about (给时间 学生思考回答问题)Watch the video, and answer the question: What is this video about On the basis of previous learning, let the children become more sensitive to short vowels. Presentation1、Establish a farm setting using or audio clips. Play audio clips of various farm animals and have students identify the animals and say the corresponding words (cat, hen, pig, dog, duck) 2、Guide students focus the “closed syllables”. Introduce words with closed syllables, highlighting the structure and showing examples. Closed syllable: a syllable end with one or more consonant phonemes and has only one vowel phoneme in between. 3. Guide students to observe the structure of words (closed syllables) and try to pronounce. Encourage students to describe their observations about vowel sounds in closed syllables. 4. Guide students to recognize and practice the pronunciation of short vowels on by one by watching video demonstrations and repeating after them.1、listen to audio and guess animal name. 2. Observe structure of words (cat, hen, pig, dog, duck) and talk about their findings. 3. Understand Vowel pronounce differently in closed syllables. 4. Learn 5 short vowels / /, /e/, / /, / / ,/ /, try to apply to other words. 5. Finish situational quiz on the power point.Enhance students’ cognition of short vowels. Exercise students’ thinking ability to make connections between closed syllables and short vowels. Practice1. Guide students choose right answer. 2. Guide students judge the pronunciation of a word by observing whether the syllable is open or closed. Then teacher play the audio to check answers1. Find the underlined part of each of the following words that is pronounced differently. 2. In pairs, students discuss exercises from the textbook and fill out a table, categorizing words and writing them below the corresponding phonetic symbols and letters. Training the student’s ability of applying. Students can reflect on the rules they have learnt and apply it to reading skill.ProductionLead the students to read and mark the phonetic symbols Listen to and read a chant aloud, focusing on the pronunciation of short vowels in closed syllables.
