Look at all the girls around him!Language Points① Mario, you used to be short, didn’t you (教材P25)used to do sth. “过去常常做某事”, 表示过去经常性或习惯性的动作或状态,暗指现在已经不存在了,强调过去与现在的对比。e.g. I used to go there every Saturday.我以前每星期六都去那儿。【拓展】be used to do sth. 被用来做某事e.g. This kind of material can be used to make houses.这种材料可以用来造房子。be used to doing sth. 习惯于做某事e.g. I am used to getting up early. 我习惯早起。be used for doing sth. 被用于做某事e.g. This tool is used for shaping wood.这个工具是用来加工木料的。Mario, you used to be short, didn’t you 这句话用到了反义疑问句。反义疑问句形式:陈述句+逗号+简短问句反义疑问句的否定句必须用缩略形式,同时它的主语必须用人称代词,不能用名词。反义疑问句有下面两类:前一部分为肯定式,后一部分是否定式。前一部分是否定式,后一部分是肯定式。在使用反义疑问句时需要注意:1. 陈述句和简短问句在人称、数和时态上必须保持一致,简短问句的主语必须为代词。e.g. Tom went to your birthday party yesterday, didn’t he Tom 昨天去参加你的生日聚会了,是吗?2. 陈述部分含有nothing, never, hardly, little等表示否定意义的词,简短问句要用肯定形式。e.g. She has never been to Beijing, has she 她从没去过北京,对吗?② What’s he like now (教材P25)What’s sb. like 的意思是“某人什么样?”,它常用来提问人的性格、品质等,也可用来提问人的相貌。当用于提问人的相貌时What’s sb. like =What does sb. look like e.g. 1. —What’s Lily like Lily是怎样的一个人?—She’s a very nice girl.她是个非常好的女孩。2. ——What is Mike like now / What does Mike look like now Mike现在长什么样?—— He is tall and thin.他又高又瘦。③ It’s been three years since we last saw our primaryschool classmates.(教材P26)此处为固定句式:It is/ has been ...years since...e.g. It has been 20 years since I graduated from college.我大学毕业已经20年了。It is nearly two years since I came here.我来这儿快两年了。④ I used to see him reading in the library every day.
