What festivals do they represent And what traditional food do we eat on these festivals Ss: They represent the Dragon Boat Festival and the Mid-Autumn Festival. We eat zongzi on the Dragon Boat Festival and mooncakes on the Mid-Autumn Festival. 2. 教师引入本节课的主题——感恩节,提问学生是否了解感恩节以及在感恩节吃什么。 T: Do you know Thanksgiving Day What do people eat on Thanksgiving Day Ss: Maybe turkey. (二)读前(5 分钟) 1. 教师让学生看 2a 的图片和问题,引导学生思考并讨论在中国的端午节、中秋节等节日吃什么食物。 T: Look at the pictures and questions in 2a. Let's think and discuss what we eat on the Dragon Boat Festival and the Mid-Autumn Festival in China. Ss: People celebrate Thanksgiving in the United States. People celebrate it on the fourth Thursday in November. 2. 仔细阅读(10 分钟) 教师让学生再次仔细阅读短文,完成 2c 的练习,回答更多关于感恩节的问题,如:Why do people celebrate Thanksgiving How do people celebrate Thanksgiving What do people eat on Thanksgiving 学生阅读并完成练习后,教师与学生一起核对答案,讲解重点词汇和句型。 T: Read the passage carefully this time and finish the exercises in 2c. Ss: People celebrate Thanksgiving to give thanks for food in the autumn. Most Americans still celebrate it by having a big meal at home with their family. They eat turkey on Thanksgiving. (四)巩固练习(10 分钟) 1. 排序练习(5 分钟) 教师让学生看 2d 的内容,将火鸡制作步骤的句子打乱顺序,让学生根据短文内容重新排序。 学生完成排序后,教师请一位学生到黑板上写出答案,其他学生核对,然后教师讲解火鸡的制作过程,强调 first, next, then, finally 等连接词的用法。 T: Look at 2d. The sentences about making a turkey dinner are in the wrong order. Please put them in the correct order according to the passage. Ss: First, mix together some bread pieces, onions, salt and pepper. Next, fill the turkey with this mixture. Then, put the turkey in a hot oven and cook it for a few hours. After that, put the turkey on a plate and cover it with gravy. Finally, cut the turkey into pieces and eat the meat. 2. 小组讨论(5 分钟) 教师让学生分组讨论 2e 的问题,如:What's your favorite festival food Do you know any similar festivals in other countries and what food do they eat 每个小组推选一名代表,向全班汇报讨论结果。 T: Now, let's have a group discussion about the questions in 2e.
