Period 1 Reading and Thinking
【教材分析】
This lesson focuses on discourse analysis of its organization and characteristics.Through these questions,guide students to clarify why Lang Ping and Jordan are masters and what kind of role models they have set.On this basis,students are allowed to talk about sports stars in their minds using the language they have learned.
【教学目标与核心素养】
1.Read quickly to understand the basic situation of Lang Ping and Jordan;Read deeper to understand why they can be called sports legends.
2.Guide understanding of the meaning of certain language in the context of the text through questions,such as "time seems to be static, elegant",etc.
3.Read and clarify the context of each part of the text,and learn how to discuss and write sports legends.
4.Through comparative analysis,we can form criteria for judging
legendary figures and learn to choose legendary sports stars that we like. 【教学重难点】

Step 1 Leading-in

2.Then let the students talk about Lang Ping and Michael Jordan Several students shared their ideas.
Q1:How much do you know about Lang Ping and Michael Jordan Q2:What else do you want to know about them
Step 2 Understanding the title and the lead paragraph.
Ask students to think about this topic and answer the following questions.
Q1:Why do you think the author chose to write about these two sports stars
Q2:What does'living legend 'mean
Q3:What kind of living standards or requirements should sports stars legends choose
Then divide into groups to discuss the above issues and find people to share their ideas.
Step 3 Getting detailed information about Lang Ping
1.Read to answer the following questions.
Q1:Is Lang Ping a master in this field How did you know that Q2:What good examples has Lang Ping set for others
