一. Teaching Objectives
1. Language knowledge objectives:
- Master the key vocabulary and phrases in this part, such as polite, request, direction, etc.
- Understand and be able to use expressions about asking for information and giving directions politely.
- Learn reading strategies like skimming and intensive reading.
2. Language skill objectives:
- Be able to read and understand the article about asking for help politely in different situations.
- Answer questions and have simple discussions according to the article.
- Use the learned polite expressions in real-life situations.
3. Emotional attitude objectives:
- Cultivate students' civilized consciousness and polite habits.
- Improve students' adaptability in cross-cultural communication.

四. Teaching Procedures
1. Lead-in
- Show some pictures or videos of people asking for help in different situations. Ask students: How do they ask for help Is it polite
- Lead in the topic of asking for help politely.
2. Vocabulary learning
- Present the key vocabulary and phrases in this part, such as polite, request, direction, etc. Lead students to read and explain their meanings.
- Consolidate vocabulary through examples or small exercises.
3. Pre-reading
- Guide students to observe the title and pictures of the article and predict the content.
- Raise some questions to stimulate students' reading interest.
4. While-reading
- Skimming: Let students quickly browse the article and answer some simple questions, such as what is the main idea of the article.
- Intensive reading: Read the article carefully and complete detailed questions and tasks, such as filling in the blanks and judging true or false.
- Analyze the structure and language features of the article to help students better understand it.
5. Post-reading
- Group discussion: Organize students to discuss the polite ways of asking for help mentioned in the article and give examples in real life.
- Role-play: Let students role-play to simulate situations of asking for help and giving help politely in different situations.
6. Language points explanation
