among 在........之间/之中 （通常指三者或以上） 常指“被环绕在........当中” The teacher is sitting among the students. 老师正坐在学生之间。

【用法】 next to 是介词短语，意为“紧靠……的旁边；在……近旁；贴近；紧邻”，其后接表示地点的名词或代词，可用close to来替换。
e.g. She sat next to her mother. 她坐在她妈妈身旁。
We sat next to each other. 我们紧挨着坐在一起。
The two shops are next to each other. 那两家铺子紧挨着.
【辨析】beside，near 与 next to
beside 介词，表示“在……旁边”，一般指空间上，常与介词by换用
near 介词，表示“在……的附近”，表示的距离比beside/by稍远些，也可换用；当表示空间上的“接近”时，用near与near to都行；还可作形容词，表示的“近”是相对的。反义词是 far“远”。
next to 介词短语，表示“紧靠……的旁边；贴近；紧靠”，其后接表示地点的名词或代词，可用close to来替换。
