An 82-year-old Chinese female pilot has set a record in the country's airline industry after flying a small plane for 40minutes in Beijing. Miao Xiaohong, one of China's second batch(一批) of female pilots, controlled the Tecnam P2010plane to take off, turn, climb, dive and land safely at the Shifosi Airport in Pinggu District of Beijing.
In 1956, Miao Xiaohong, who graduated from a high school in Jinan, won a position in the second batch. She graduated from the flight school in 1958. In the following years, she flew many important missions(任务). In 1963, she undertook a mission to airdrop materials for the flood-stricken areas in Hebei Province. Poor visibility (能见度) prevented her locating the target areas as the clouds were about 100 meters above the ground, but she managed to finish the task.
In 1989, she retired and started her writing career. When she collected material for her books, she found that many aged pilots in other countries still flew, and she had the idea of returning to the sky. To prepare for the flight, she walked 3,000 steps every day and moved her arms to meet the requirements for the high-altitude flight. Different from past flights for missions, this time her goal was to enjoy the flight. She said that it was exciting and fresh. "Seeing the boundless blue sky unfold in front of me, I feel it is very open," she said.
The trainer said that Miao Xiaohong could finish the 30-hour flight to get a license for commercial flights. She said, "My physical condition is good enough to finish the 30-hour flight but it is not so important for me to get such a license. After achieving my dream of returning to the sky, I hope to encourage young women to join the airline industry. I'm 82 years old and I can fly again. You, the young people, can fly and will fly better than me."
24.What can we learn from the airdrop mission carried out by Miao Xiaohong
A.She was a very beautiful pilot. B.She had excellent flying skills.
C.She suffered from poor eyesight. D.She usually completed hard tasks.
25.What made Miao Xiaohong have the idea of flying a plane at the age of 82
A.Her deep love for flights. B.Her wish to set a flying record.
C.The requirements of her books. D.The influence of other aged pilots.
26.Which of the following words can best describe Miao Xiaohong
A.Faithful. B.Energetic. C.Determined. D.Enthusiastic.
27.What could be the best title for the passage
A.Returning to the blue sky B.Coming to join in the flight
C.Managing to finish difficult tasks D.Improving yourself to set a record
C
Three days earlier, a super typhoon attacked a coastal country, cutting off all communication with the outside. Thousands of people died in the storm.
Whether the destruction (破坏) caused by extreme weather events can be related to human emissions (排放物) of greenhouse gases is most discussed in climate science. If this relation is established, extreme weather can be the severest result of climate change that threatens a range of human rights, including the rights to life, food, health, housing, development and self-determination.
Felix Pretis of the University of Victoria has shown even 1.5℃ of global warming will reduce economic growth in some regions, and that the tropics (热带) will feel this impact more than other areas. Some studies predict that the number of heat-related deaths in many parts, South East Asia among them, will be far more than the number of cold-related deaths.
And then there are negative effects of extreme weather events, which have the potential to kill thousands. Myles Allen, a climate modeler at the University of Oxford, has led research into whether specific weather events can be owed to broader climate trends (趋势). He used climate models to model the super typhoon with and without greenhouse gas emissions. The former accurately reproduced the actual events, in terms of the weather patterns, wind speeds and so on. In 15 out of 16 times without industrial emissions, the storm was weaker.
The study shows human emissions are likely to increase wind speeds, which results in a storm move that is 20% higher than it might be in the absence of climate change. It is this move that proves particularly destructive. "It's not true that without human influence this event could never have happened," Dr Allen said. "But through this study you can see this impact."
28.What is the purpose of the first paragraph
A.To show the mass destruction of super typhoons.
B.To give an example of the extreme weather event.
C.To introduce discussion on such events and human emissions.
D.To warn people about possible results of climate change.
29.What is mainly expressed in Paragraph 3
A.Studies on harm of climate change are needed.
B.Global warming will damage human rights.
C.Both high and low temperatures are dangerous.
D.Some areas are affected by global warming.
30.How did Myles Allen conduct his experiment
A.By making comparisons. B.By analyzing examples.
C.By collecting data. D.By analyzing causes and results.
31.What do the climate models suggest
A.The storm results from greenhouse gas emissions.
B.Human behavior increases the frequency of storms.
C. Wind speeds are determined by industrial emissions.
D.Human influence worsens extreme weather events.
D
A year ago, I decided to create a more environmentally friendly kitchen, focusing on reducing the single-use products such as plastic bags and paper towel. I'm not going to sugarcoat my experience. It takes commitment(投入) and willingness to change long-held habits. In creating my kitchen, I tried a lot of different alternative products and some plain old common things; the result, however, has been worth the effort. I'm recycling more and relying less on single-use products and I'm saving money too.
I'm not kidding when I say that I used to really love plastic storage bags, so this was, perhaps, the biggest challenge for me. Switching to reusable storage bags is a financial investment, but the cost is reasonable considering that I previously spent at least $100 annually on single-use plastic bags and wrap. I will check online periodically(定期地) for recycling updates, where a zero-waste box for kitchen items is offered for free, from party supplies to mixed-material food containers.
I'm a clean freak(怪人) and used to go through an amount of paper towel on a daily basis, but it's easy enough to take old T-shirts or towels and cut them up and use them to wipe down surfaces. I'm also a fan of bamboo paper towel, which has the look and feel of traditional paper towel, yet is made from a highly renewable source and also breaks down in just 45 days. Better yet, it can be reused up to 100 times. As for kitchen sponges(海绵块), I keep an eye out for those made with natural and recyclable materials.
When purchasing household items online from companies like Amazon or Jet, I will ask to have them shipped in as few boxes as possible or as small a box as possible if a single item is to be sent. I'll let the company know that it should pay more attention to how it's packaging items for delivery.
32.What is the author's main purpose in creating her kitchen
A.To save money. B.To reduce waste and recycle more.
C.To change her long-held habits. D.To make it cleaner and more practical.
33.What does the underlined word "sugarcoat" in Paragraph 1 mean
A.Make attractive. B.Get interested. C.Show off. D.Give up.
34.In creating her environmentally friendly kitchen, what does the author do
A.Begin to recycle more single-use plastic bags.
B.Go through an amount of paper towel on a daily basis.
C.Check online periodically to buy zero-waste boxes.
D.Choose to use the recyclable or reusable kitchen items.
35.What can we learn about the author from the text
A.She has strong environmental awareness.
B.She is used to traditional paper towel.
C.She has a good knowledge of the financial investment.
D.She prefers to have her purchases packed in small boxes.

When my daughters reached the third and fourth grades, I sometimes allowed them to walk to and from school alone if the weather permitted. One warm spring day, a little dog followed them home after school. It had short legs and long lovely ears. It was the cutest dog I had ever seen and the girls begged me to keep it.
The dog was about twelve weeks old. It had no collar(项圈) or identifying marks of any sort. I didn't know what to do. I thought about posting an advertisement but I really didn't want to. It would break the kids' hearts if someone should show up. Besides, its owners should have watched it more closely.
By the end of the week the dog was part of our family. It was very intelligent and good with the girls. The following week something told me to check the lost and found section in the local paper. One particular advertisement jumped out at me and my heart beat with fear for what I read. Someone was begging for the return of a lost dog in the neighborhood of our grade school. The person sounded extremely eager. My hand shook, and I couldn't bring myself to pick up the paper.
Instead, I pretended I hadn't seen the advertisement. I quickly put the paper away in the drawer and continued with my dusting. I never said a word about it to the kids or my husband.
We named the dog Molly. It followed the girls everywhere they went. When they went outside, it was one step behind them. When they did the housework, it was there to lend a hand.
There was only one problem with this seemingly perfect picture: my conscience(良心) was bothering me. I knew in my heart I had to call that number in the paper and see if our Molly was the dog the person was desperately seeking. It was the most difficult thing I had ever done.
Paragraph 1:
With mixed feelings, I finally picked up the phone.
____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Paragraph 2:
I asked the woman to come in and she quickly bent over and hugged Molly tightly.

根据第三段中“...she found that many aged pilots in other countries still flew, and she had the idea of returning to the sky.”
根据第三段中“To prepare for the flight, she walked3,000 steps every day...flight.(为了准备这次飞行,她每天要走3,000步,并活动双臂,以满足高空飞行的要求。)” A.
27.答案:A
根据第一段中“An 82-year-old Chinese female pilot has set a record...in Beijing.”及第三段中“When she collected material for her books...returning to the sky.”
根据常见的写作手法可知,文章开头所给的例子一般是为主题服务且引出主题的,再根据第二段第一句“Whether the destruction caused by extreme weather events can be related to human emissions of greenhouse gases is most discussed in climate science,”可推测,第一段的目的是引出关于极端天气事件和人类排放温室气体之间关系的讨论。故选C。
根据第二段末句“If this relation is established, extreme weather can be the severest result of climate change that threatens a range of human rights, including the rights to life, food, health, housing, development and self-determination.”
30.答案:A
根据倒数第二段第三句“He used climate models to model the super typhoon with and without greenhouse gas emissions.” 故选A。
根据最后一段第一句“The study shows human emissions are likely to increase wind speeds, which results in a storm move that is 20% higher than it might be in the absence of climate change.”
根据第一段中的“A year ago, I decided to create a more environmentally friendly kitchen, focusing on reducing the single-use products...”
33.答案:A
根据画线词所在句后句“It takes commitment(投入) and willingness to change long-held habits.”
根据第一段中“In creating my kitchen, I tried a lot of...saving money too.”
35.答案:A
36.上文“As English learners, you often feel anxious when you have to speak English in front of others.” 承接上文,引出下文“Here are some ways to help you build confidence in speaking English.”。
37.上文“Adopt a practice...is through practice and repetition.”
38.下文“You may lose confidence...speaking slowly is easy to achieve.” 选项中speak more slowly和下文speak too fast以及speaking slowly语义相关。
39.上文“Don't run away from uncomfortable situations...n the uncomfortable zones.”
40.上文“All in all, learning to speak English confidently doesn't happen overnight.”

42.答案:B
解析:根据前文的“I want to send my roots deep into the soil”可知,第一颗种子想要把根深深地扎进土壤里,再由后文的“come up”可知此处表示努力(try)。try to do sth.
43.答案:A
解析:根据下文的“the sun on my face”可知,阳光照在脸上会感受到温暖(warmth)。
44.答案:B
解析:根据下文“I don't know what I will meet in the dark”可知,第二颗种子认为如果把根扎入地(ground)下,不知道在黑暗中会遇到什么。
46.答案:A
解析:“What if...
47.答案:C
解析:根据下文的“and right away ate it”可知,母鸡把它吃掉了,所以母鸡是在找食物(food)。
48.答案:C
解析:根据空后的“what if I stop focusing on...for the best ”可知,作者是在问(ask)自己。
49.答案:A
51.答案:C
解析:根据上一句“Most people can do...”
根据句意可知,truth(事实)符合语境。
53.答案:B
解析:根据上文的“They will do it when they are rich or when they get married.”
54.答案:A
答案:things;It;who/that;is;careful;choose;making;to help;respected;in
解析:
此处为“it is +adj.+(for sb.) to do sth.”句型,it是形式主语,真正的主语是不定式短语“to find a better definition of friendship”。 故填It。
avoid doing sth.
try to do sth.
be in trouble表示“处于麻烦之中”。故填in。
Dear John,
I'm sorry to hear that you are lonely in this new school. Now I'd like to offer you some suggestions.
It's normal for you to feel lonely because you are living in an entirely new environment. To adapt yourself to the unfamiliar surroundings, you'd better take an active part in class and after-school activities. What's more, don't be afraid to show people what you are really good at. It's easier to make friends when you have similar interests with others.
To be frank, I'd like to be your friend and I hope everything will be fine with you in the future.
Yours,
Li Hua
第二节
答案:
Paragraph1:
With mixed feelings, I finally picked up the phone. With butterflies in my stomach, I dialed the telephone number. Secretly I prayed no one would answer, but someone did. The voice on the other end was that of a young woman. After I described the dog to her in detail, she immediately wanted to come over. I said that my daughters loved it very much and meanwhile apologized for not having contacted her a few days before. 30 minutes later, the bell rang and Molly was barking. I opened the door, forcing myself to face it.
Paragraph 2:
I asked the woman to come in and she quickly bent over and hugged Molly tightly. Molly started wagging its tail and barking excitedly as if it had recognized someone familiar. Surprised and excited, the woman told me that she couldn't sleep well without it and thanked us for keeping her dog for these days. She offered to give me some cash as a reward, but I refused. After she took Molly away, I cracked a smile. I knew I had done the right thing—that puppy was exactly where she belonged.
