听力原文
1.M: I never listen to the radio anyway. I can just check the weather on my phone.
W: I do the same thing. I’m never home to watch the weather forecast on television either.
2.W:Are you going to make it to the basketball game tonight I will be there right after debate
team practice.
M: I can’t. I have a big math test tomorrow. I have to prepare for it.
3.W: It looks like you’re having a hard time with that program, Larry. Why don’t you use the
method that I gave in the class yesterday
M: I was absent. I’ll ask one of my classmates to send it to me.
4.W: If we want to win the game this Friday, we need to come up with a plan now. They beat us
every year.
M: We need to use teamwork more. John is our best player. But we can give him the ball
every time.
5.W: Excuse me, I’m trying to pay the parking, but all I have is Dollar bills. Could you spare any
change
M: I’m sorry, madam. But our store policy is not to give out change unless you buy
something.
W: Ok
6.W: Tim, I saw you running from the bus stop this morning. Your mother and father wouldn’t be
happy seeing you do that.
M: I was late for school, though.
{#{QQABaQCEoggAABBAAAhCAQXQCgGQkhCCAQgGxFAMMAAASQNABAA=}#}
W: You need to be more careful when you cross the street. You need to walk during the right time
and in the right places.
M: But I’m very fast.
W: Are you even listening to me It is dangerous. It is also against the law.
M: But I hate waiting for the lights to change in the cars to pass by. I don’t want to be late.
W: It is important to obey the rules, but your safety is more important. I don’t want to see any one
of my students get hurt.
7. W: Sorry, Jim, I won’t be able to make it to the dinner tomorrow night. I’ll be busy
volunteering at the library during that time.
M: That’s interesting, Carol. Most people I know volunteer by collecting garbage or something.
What do you do at the library when you volunteer Are they short on employees who put away
books
W: Nothing like that. I just read the children’s books and act out some of the stories. For them, it’s
very fun and it doesn’t take long. Maybe one or two hours.
M: How often do you do that
W: I do it on Monday, Wednesday and Friday every week. You should come help me with it one
time.
M: That sounds like fun. Can I pick the stories I want to read I hate to try and act out a story I
never read.
M: You can read any book, as long as it’s on the library’s list.
8. M: I was reading about super foods today. They are fruits, vegetables and other foods that are
supposed to be extra healthy.
W: That’s interesting. Which foods are they I suppose rice is high on the list. We certainly eat a
lot of that here in China.
M: No, it isn’t. Nor are noodles, but yogurt, fish and tomatoes are there.
W: Oh, well, I suppose we eat plenty of them. Why are these foods so healthy
M: It’s said they can reduce the risk of high blood pressure, heart disease and certain cancers.
W: Maybe I will start including them in our meals. Are there any foods on the list that we don’t
have yet
M: Nuts and greens are something we already eat plenty of, and although our type of rice, the
{#{QQABaQCEoggAABBAAAhCAQXQCgGQkhCCAQgGxFAMMAAASQNABAA=}#}
white kind, isn’t on the list, brown rice is,
W: Then I think we will switch to that to keep the family healthy. Superfood sound like a very
tasty way to keep fit.
9. M: I can’t believe this. I have been on the phone with my bank all day and they still haven’t
fixed my problem.
W: Is it a credit card problem
M: Yes. My credit card information was stolen when I got my Bill in the mail. I saw there were
many unfamiliar purchases on it.
W: That’s terrible. Did they take a lot of money
M: Yes, and I am very upset because the bank is not helping me quickly. I have talked to many
different managers already.
W: Doesn’t the bank’s owner need to make the decision to give you your money back
M: No, I just have to prove that these purchases were not made by me.
W: I hope you can fix this problem soon. Something similar happened to my husband’s mother
recently. She was tricked into giving away some important information over the phone.
M: I think the person who stole my information got it from the Internet. I bought a collection of
movies recently. I won’t be doing that again unless the website is sure to be safe. It’s honestly my
fault for being careless.
W: You can never be too careful. Well, your problem is inspiring me to look into protecting my
account better. I think I can pay my bank more to help me.
10. Listen up, you two, we need to leave this house before the sun rises tomorrow. Your father
will be home soon from work, and once he gets home, we will be packing our bags. We need you
guys to do the same thing tonight. I want everything you’re going to bring put out in the living
room before you go to bed. Before you pack everything, though, you need to put aside the clothes
for tomorrow. I don’t want to wait for you to search for other clothes or to unpack your bag to get
something. Our flight is at seven am. and it will take about an half hour to get to the airport. From
here, we’ll probably need another hour to get through security. Also, I know I said that we would
go out for our meal tonight, but there is just too much to do. I asked your father to pick up some
Chinese food for dinner instead. I can’t be bothered to cook something since I just cleaned
everything. If you want a specific dish at the restaurant, you will need to call your father,
{#{QQABaQCEoggAABBAAAhCAQXQCgGQkhCCAQgGxFAMMAAASQNABAA=}#}
otherwise he will just pick up something that we can all share. Are you clear on everything I said

William Dunn is the founder of Take a Kid Fishing, a nonprofit (非营利的) organization in Lakeland, Florida,
which teaches poor and fatherless kids through the sport of fishing.
A dozen years ago, inspired by his six-year-old fatherless neighbor, Camran, who got angry and shouted at
his mom, William asked Camran’s mom for permission to take Camran fishing. Camran was “hooked” from that
first trip. The two fished together several times a week, and William saw positive changes in Camran’s behavior.
“That’s when I realized that I had the duty to help fatherless kids,” he says.
On weekends, William and a few other volunteers take 20 to 25 kids out fishing on a rental boat, which was
supported by the captain of the Double Eagle. Many have never been fishing or even on a boat, so William —or
Big Will, as the kids call him —starts by teaching the basic skills. Then come the life lessons that fishing offers:
patience, team work and the simple joy of relaxing in the outdoors. Take a Kid Fishing has taken more than 600
fishing trips with almost 2,000 kids who don’t have a father in their lives.
He wants to share his love of fishing with kids who don’t have a father to take them. “I just want to show
them that I care about them, that I’m there for them,” he says. Because many kids go on many trips, William is
able to build relationships with them. He and Camran, now 20, still regularly fish together, and Camran sees Big
Will as a father figure.
Take a Kid Fishing has a huge impact, but it started because William wanted to help one kid. Do you know a
child who might benefit from your friendship Introduce them to fishing or another hobby you enjoy. You can
make a great difference to their life.
24. What does the underlined word “hooked” in Paragraph 2 mean
A. Bored. B. Attracted. C. Relaxed. D. Inspired.
25. What can we know from Paragraph 3
A. Few kids participated in the fishing trips.
B. The kids were taught more than basic skills.
C. The organization made lots of money from the kids.
D. The fishing boat was sold to them by other volunteers.
26. Which of the following opinions will William Dunn agree with
A. An unhappy child needs a friend.
B. Fatherless kids enjoy outdoor activities.
C. An experienced captain should care for kids.
D. Companionship plays an important role in kids’ lives.
27. Which can be a suitable title for the text
A. Fishing Offers Kids the Joy of Relaxing B. Friendship Has a Great Impact on Kids
C. Fishing Changes Fatherless Kids’ Life D. The Love of Fishing Joins Family Together

Are you addicted to computer games Do you stay up all night playing them Do you feel happy after you play
computer games
There’s no doubt that the excitement of games these days makes them hard to put down.We are attracted by the
choice when it comes to gaming:You can role play —creating your own fantastic characters and stories, giving
you a chance to step out of everyday life into an imaginary world. And there are shooting games where you can
let out your anger and depression in violent situations where you kill people with guns. You can get excited from
the games.
However, can these kinds of games really be fun and can being absorbed in virtual reality be good for us
Should we worry about their effects on our health Popular games like Grand Theft Auto have been blamed for
everything from falling results at school to causing acts of extreme violence. Internet safety adviser, Alan
MacKenzie, thinks “any people understandably will just think that a game is just a game, not realizing the exact
content that’s in there”. He gives an example of the violence, which he says is “wholly inappropriate for anybody,
not to mention children”.
Others will argue that gaming is a harmless form of entertainment. There is evidence that playing video games
could actually be good for us. Some games like Game of Thrones and World of Warcraft are educational and
using games certainly can help children learn good qualities. Studies have also shown that the skills used in
playing games can cause growth in certain areas of the brain, the ability to think in 3D and even improve our
eyesight.
Video game players are also no longer just simple creatures. For some, gaming is having a positive effect on
their social lives with games like Halo and World of Warcraft often being played in groups. When your group
works together to win the game, your sense of achievement is higher than when winning by yourself.
So every coin has two sides. It seems that today gaming isn’t just for game fans and if used in a proper way, we
can all take part. If video games have two sides, what side do you stand by

For motorcycle enthusiasts, nothing beats the excitement of riding your motorcycle on the open highway with
the wind on your back. With gas prices going up. motorcycles are economical and a much greener way to travel.
Along with the benefits comes the risk of personal injury if an accident occurs. After all, you’re not protected
by steel like you are while driving your car. But besides wearing a helmet, the latest safety innovations are
personal airbags that you can wear.
Airbags have been protecting people in car accidents for decades. Now, a Swedish company, Mo’cycle, has
made jeans that can be filled with air for motorcycle riders. The jeans are designed to offer protection for the
rider’s lower body in case of an accident. The airbag jeans look like conventional pants and are reusable. They are
made of a special material which is stronger and weighs less than steel. The airbag component is removable and
the jeans can be washed, dried, and worn again.
The jeans help to reduce damage from roadways after a fall. The airbags help cushion(缓冲) the rider if he or
she falls off the motorcycle. Mo’cycle teamed up with airbag technology company Helite to design and produce
the airbags. The airbags are actually built into the jeans and are triggered(触发) in milliseconds if the rider is
separated from the vehicle.
This innovative technology is designed to safeguard motorcycle riders by protecting the lower body areas
that have not been previously covered, like the riders’ upper legs, the lower waist, and especially the tailbone!
According to the company, “It is revolutionary to use airbag technology to protect the lower part of the backbone,
because backbone injuries are what disable motorcycle riders.”
Mo’cycle’s airbag jeans are on sale on the company’s crowdfunding campaign along with an airbag vest and
a complete protection package. Making the roads safer for motorcyclists is certainly a worthy effort. So the next
time you have an urge to ride, make sure you put on protective device before you hit the open road.

B. To compare cars and motorcycles.

A. They are available. B. They need to be improved.

第二节(满分25分)
阅读下面材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段,使之构成一篇完整的短文。
My husband was out of town for work last week. When he travels, he typically is only gone for a day or two,
but this time it was a few days longer. He was supposed to come home the next night, but as he was boarding the
plane, his flight had been canceled(取消) and he had to return to the hotel to wait for the next flight. He learned
very quickly that the city was struggling against a high crime rate. He was not able to get a Uber or taxi at
4:30 am to get to the airport for his flight due to workers being fearful of their lives. When I told my kids that
their dad was not going to be home that night, they were both upset.
My husband was the head coach of my children’s baseball team. They had a game the next morning and my
husband was trying so badly to make it home in time. The thought of possibly missing our son’s game really
made him mad. He wanted to be there because this was their thing and he didn’t want to let him or the other boys
down.
A young man by the name of Asher, who worked at the hotel my husband stayed at, overheard my husband’s
dilemma(窘境). He realized my husband was not able to take a vehicle to the airport. This young man offered to
wake up and get my husband to the airport at 4:30 am. My husband was in shock—a complete stranger would
offer to do such a big act of kindness. When he called to tell me the possible ride, he was so hopeful. This young
man honored his word and brought my husband to the airport safely.
I didn’t want to get my sons to have too high expectation, so I told him, “Dad is trying to get home for your
game but I am not sure whether he will make it.” That morning, on the way to the baseball field, both my kids
looked up in the sky during the entire ride to the field and pointed at the planes in the sky saying, “Maybe that’s
Dad’s plane.”
