教学设计理念
本节课以谈论“道德困境”（Talk about moral dilemmas)切入单元主题“道德与美德”（Morals and virtues)，介绍什么是道德困境，探讨了处于道德困境中的人所面临的不同选择和结果，以及选择背后所隐含的道德观和处事原则。通过探讨这些问题，让学生了解和感受道德困境在日常生活中的普遍性和复杂性，能够结合自身的体验和生活经验反思与道德困境相关的实际问题，提升辩证思维能力，使其能够更加全面客观地观察和看待社会现象，以理性的态度认识世界。
文本分析
该板块的听力文本展示了Jane 与Luke两个好友关于道德困境的对话，在对话中，Jane根据我国妇科专家林巧稚少年时的一段真实经历，描绘出一个典型的道德困境：正参加医学院考试的女学生遇到旁边的考生晕倒，她应该暂停考试去救助他人，还是应该继续考试等候其他人施以援手？面临这一困境，年少的林巧稚毅然决定照顾晕倒的考生，将他人的安危放在自身利益之上。对话文本还呈现了一些表示惊讶或难以置信的表达用语，如：Really Like what I can’t believe she... Who would do such a thing
学情分析
本节课是单元学习的第一个模块，学生对本单元主题词汇还不太熟悉，需要在导入和听前准备阶段做好铺垫，使其顺利完成接下来的听力任务。鉴于高一年级学生听说能力相对来说还是比较薄弱，口语表达不太流畅，对听说有一些恐惧心理，因此对一些题目问题重新编排简化处理，以适应学生实际水平，树立学生自信心。
教学目标
1.了解单元的主要内容和学习目标，通过讨论列举出人们普遍认可的道德品质。 2.通过观察图片，结合教材所给定义，理解什么是道德困境，并能描述道德困境中的两难选择以及不同选择所遵循的道德规范。 3.根据说话人提供的信息以及说话的语气，语速，声调等判断其态度或情绪 4.结合道德困境的具体实例，谈论和分析人物的选择以及所体现的品质，并结合现实生活表达自己的看法。
教学重难点
教学重点：1.了解听力文本的主旨大意，能够听出关键信息以及说话人说话的语气，语速，声调等判断其态度或情绪。 观察图片，描述图片故事 教学难点：1.学生自信流畅的表达自己的观点,对图片展示的场景进行描述，揣摩人物心理，描述男孩的内心活动。 2.学生了解和感受道德困境在日常生活中的普遍性和复杂性，在现实生活中能作出正确选择，积极践行中华民族的传统优良美德。

Step1 Lead-in Activity 1: Have a chat on a personal experience If a person gets sick,he can go to the hospital and take medicine. If society gets sick,what kind of medicine can cure it The answer: Morals and virtues What can cause society to get sick The answer: moral dilemmas 本活动主要引导学生讨论思考人类生病可以就医服药，如果社会生病该怎么办？什么药物可以医治社会？回答完第一个问题后，再启发学生思考什么造成社会生病？
Step 2: Pre-listening Activity 2: Describe what a moral dilemma is. Look at the picture on page 14 and discuss what moral dilemma the boy is facing. After students’ description, conclude what a moral dilemma is and explain why it is difficult to deal with moral dilemma. 本活动一方面旨在培养学生看和说的技能与策略，通过问题引导他们图片所展示的场景，包括图片中主人公面临的两难选择以及不同选择背后所隐含的道德规范；另一方面是为了帮助学生正确理解道德困境的定义及其内涵，为后续的道德困境分析做铺垫
Step3: While-listening Activity 3: Listen for the gist and the details of the conversation Listen to the conversation and complete the table on page 14 part 2. Listen again and answer the questions What did the girl do to help the student What was the girl's name What was she famous for What did Jane say about the girl's life Check the answers 学生通过听录音了解对话的大意，同时获取与道德困境相关的细节信息。这一环节对活动2和活动4进行了整合，主要是为了训练学生扑捉关键信息的能力
Step4: While-listening Activity4: Listen for the speakers’ attitude Go through the listening strategy and the statements in Activity 3 on page 14. Listen to the conversation and finish Activity 3. Check the answers with the whole class. Activity5：Exercise Fill in the blanks about the conversation 让学生通过浏览指示语并结合背景知识或亲身体验，根据说话人所提供的信息，说话的语气，语速和声调等线索正确判断其态度和情绪. 活动5是将听力文本改写成语法填空，帮助学生巩固所学语言，加深学生对听力内容的理解
Step5: Pre-talking Activity6: 1.Play a short video,let students see what the common people do when facing moral dilemmas,let them feel the power of kindness 2.Pick out some useful oral expressions from the listening material . Try to use them to express your ideas on handling moral dilemmas. 观看视频，感受普通人地善良和伟大，在学生心里种下善良的种子，也为后面学生表达观点做好铺垫和情感知识储备
Step6: Talking Activity7: Discuss what you would do Share your thoughts of handling moral dilemma. Express your opinion and make a dialogue with your partner. 学生表现评价表附后面 让学生结合更接近日常生活的的道德困境，了解道德困境的普遍性，思考自己的抉择，培养学生的口头表达能力，发展他们的批判性思维能力和基于核心素养的评价能力
Step7: Summary After listening to LinQiaozhi’s story and some students’ ideas about Moral Dilemma,What can you learn from this lesson 启迪学生以林巧稚为榜样，在日常生活中积极践行社会主义核心价值观，传承中华民族的优良传统美德
Step8: Assignment Write down your ways to handle the moral dilemma in the picture. 形成知识迁移，培养学生写作能力
