whose
Whose, 意为“谁的”,是一个用于问询所有权或归属关系的疑问词,主要用作代词。
例句:
1. Whose phone is ringing (电话是谁的在响?)
2. Whose keys are these (这些是谁的钥匙?)
welcome
作为名词, 意为“欢迎、 款待”.
例如: “warm welcome”( 热烈欢迎) / “cold welcome”( 冷淡的欢迎)
作为及物动词, 意为“欢迎( 某人或某事物) ”
例如: They welcome us warmly .( 他们热情地欢迎我们。 )
Welcome to Beijing!( 欢迎来北京! )
作为形容词, 意为“受欢迎的”或“令人喜欢的”.
例如: “a welcome guest”( 受欢迎的客人)
作为表语时, welcome表示“被允许的; 可随意使用… … 的”.

garden,主要用作名词,及物动词,不及物动词.
作名词时译为“花园;菜园”.
例句:What a beautiful garden! 多么美丽的花园!
作动词时译为“做园艺工作,从事园艺活动; 种植花木”
例句:Jim gardened at the homes on weekends.
吉姆周末在家打理花园。
He's been gardening all day.
他干了一天的园艺。
05. Language points
a lot, a lot of 和 lots of
a lot “很多;非常”,表示程度,后面不接名词。
a lot of 和 lots of 都意为“许多、大量”,用法相同,既可以修饰可数名词复数,也可以修饰不可数名词。
a lot 相当于副词,约等于very much。而 a lot of 和 lots of 都相当于量词。
例句:We need a lot of /lots of money.
我们需要很多钱。
She loves him a lot.
她很爱她。

play the piano, 弹钢琴. play + the + 乐器类名词”结构的短语意为弹奏某种乐器。
类似短语有: play the guitar弹吉他 play the piano弹钢琴
play the drums敲鼓 play the violin拉小提琴
例句:She can play the piano。
她会弹钢琴。
05. Language points
like
like doing 和like to do 都表示”喜欢做某事”.
like doing sth, 表示长时间的喜欢做某事,指兴趣爱好.
like to do sth, 则常指某个具体的动作,表示偶尔一次喜欢做某事、或者突然喜欢干某事
例句:I like to read books in my spare time.
我喜欢在空闲时间读书。
I like watching TV. 我喜欢看电视.
She likes swiming. 她喜欢游泳.
