Step1. 学习理解 Free talk Do you like your life at school, why or why not Fast reading Look through the passage, and find out Whose school life is it about Talk about their school life. Look through the passage and find out the answer. 通过简单问答引出主题以及本课文本,让学生快速阅读,了解文章主人公。
Step2. 学习理解 应用实践 Read para 1 and answer: Which school does Helen study at (secondary) How long does Helen stay at school every day (spend.../ stay at school for...) Q: How long do you stay at school every day What does Helen like best on her school days (The best part of her school day is...) Q: What’s the best part of your school day Learn the new words and try to guess the meanings of the new words: secondary, spend, part. Pair work: A: How long do you spend at school every day B: I spend... A: What’s the best part of your school day B: The best part of ... is... Read para 1 and predict: What will the following passage talk about (meeting friends)And what’s the function of the last sentence If you want to write a passage about meeting friends, what will you write about (when;what; where; who...) Read Para 1 and find out the answers. Learn new words: secondary, spend, part and guess the meaning. Pair work. Read and predict. 细读第一段,回答问题,并引出生词,让学生根据音标拼读单词,并且尝试通过上下文猜测词义,同时通过反复操练句型,让学生自然而然掌握,并能联系自己的实际,在具体情境中操练。另外,让学生根据第一段来预测后面的内容,并且从哪些方面进行阐述,有助于学生思维能力的培养。
Step3. 学习理解 Read the following passage and answer: Is it about meeting friends Read para 2&3 and find out: (Group work) How many times can Helen meet friends When can Helen meet her friends Read again and find out: Who does Helen meet at different times Where does she meet What does she do with her friends Try to complete the table. Read and check whether their prediction is right. Discuss the answers in plete the table. 阅读第二第三段,验证 猜想是否正确,并通过小组合作,讨论出见朋友的次数和时间,接着再次阅读,得到相关信息,完成信息表格,很好地锻炼了其信息查找的能力。

Learn some new words and guess the meaning: discuss, topic and work out the structure of rest and spend. Helen spends time chatting with her classmates. Read para 2 and find out :What else doe she spend the time doing Use “spend time doing” to make up sentences as many as possible. (Group work) Pair work: A: How long can you have a rest at lunchtime B: I... have ...rest. A: What can you spend the time doing B: I spend ... Read para2 and find out the information at lunchtime. Learn some new words: discuss, topic and work out the structure of rest and spend. Read and find the things Helen spends time doing and make up sentences. Pair work. 细读Helen午餐时间的信息,并回答问题,让学生学习了新单词后,自己总结重要句型和用法,并通过寻找其他的信息来用spend造句,让学生充分运用了相关知识点,再迁移运用到自身。
Step5. 应用实践 迁移创新 Read para 3 and answer: what does Helen dislike Does other students like doing homework Find out the differences between two likes. Show two pictures: Jim and Jim’s father. And use the two likes to make up sentences. Read again and answer: Why does she dislike doing homework Q: I find my school life_________ because_______. How long does Helen spend on her homework every day (ask students to work out the structure: spend time on sth.) Q: How long do you send on your homework She spends two hours ______ her homework. Learn some new words: like, find, difficult and work out the structure of find and spend on. Pair work. 细读Helen不喜欢的内容,查找信息,并且学会新单词读法,并猜测词义后总结重要句型,多次反复操练达到熟练运用。
Step6. 反馈检测 Summary the structure of the passage: Helen likes meeting friends: When/ Who/ Where/ What. Helen dislikes: ... If you want to write an article about your school life, you should mainly talk about your likes and you can also talk about dislikes. Homework: Write a passage about school life. Summarize the structure of the passage. 让学生总结今日所学,从而分析出文章的结构,有利于学生学习这种新颖的方式,主要描述喜欢的部分来描述自己的学校生活。
