考点一 What kind of music do you like (P65)你喜欢什么类型的音乐
(1) kind作为名词,是“种类,类型”的意思。
e.g.a kind of “一种” all kinds of“各种各样的” what kind of “什么类型的”
(2) kind还可作为形容词,表示“友善的,善良的”。
e.g.It’s very kind of you to help me.你能够帮助我真是太好了。
考点二  It’s hard to say.(P65)很难说。
(1) “It’s hard to say.”常作为对某件事难以做出明确判断时的用语。动词不定式 to say是句子真正的主语, it是形式上的主语。如果要表示不定式的动作是谁做的,一般在不定式前加 for sb.
(2) 还有一些形容词,如difficult,easy,important等,也可用于这种结构。
e.g.It’s hard (for us) to win the match.(对我们来说,)赢得这场比赛很难。
It’s easy for Harry to remember it.对哈利而言,记住它很容易。
考点三  I hate listening to rock music.(P65) 我讨厌听摇滚乐。
(1) hate to do sth.,即hate后跟动词不定式,不定式后面通常是一个具体或者一次性的动作,又或者是特指的动作。hate doing sth.,即hate后跟动名词,这时的动作是一个表示习惯性或经常性不具体的动作。
e.g.He hates to swim in such a rainy day.他讨厌在这样的雨天里游泳。
Mary hates swimming in spring.玛丽讨厌在春天的时候游泳。
(2)rock作名词,意为“摇滚乐”,指音乐的一种;rock还有“岩石,大石块”的意思。
e.g.The 1970s was best famous for rock music. 20世纪70年代摇滚乐最为著名。
There are many rocks on the bank of the river. 在河岸上有许多大石块。

(1)be famous for= be well known for意为“以……而著名, 因……而出名”。
(2)be famous as = be well known as意为“作为……而出名”。

考点一 Mozart — the Wonder Boy (P67)莫扎特——奇迹男孩
(1) wonder用作动词,意为“疑惑,想知道”相当于want to know。wonder后面常接宾语从句或“疑问词+动词不定式”结构。
(2)用作名词,意为“奇迹”,为可数名词。其形容词形式为wonderful,意为“令人惊奇的,极好的”
e.g.The Great Wall is one of the Seven Wonders of the World.长城是世界七大奇迹之一。
He wonders what to do next.他想知道接下来做什么。
She wondered whether you were free that morning.她想知道那天早上你是否有空。

考点三 Soon Wolfgang played as well as his big sister.(P67)
不久,沃尔夫冈就和他姐姐弹得一样好了。
(1) as well as构成同级比较结构,意为“和……一样好”。这时,第一个as是副词,第二个as是介词,引导一个状语从句,表示同级比较。
e.g.He speaks English as well as a native speaker.
他英语讲得和以英语为母语的人一样好。
(2) as well as用作连词,连接两个并列的同等成分,其意义为“不但……而且……,既……又……”,这时相当于not only ...but also ..., 它所连接的部分既可以是单词、短语,也可以是句子。值得注意的是,在A as well as B的结构里,语意的重点在A,不在B。翻译时要特别注意。
e.g.The girl is lively as well as healthy.这女孩既健康又活泼。(注意:此时连接两个表语)
考点四 He learned so quickly that his father was very happy.(P67)
他学得那么快以至于他父亲十分高兴。
本句是so...that...引导的结果状语从句。
(1) so...that...意为“如此……以至于……”,引导结果状语从句,so后跟形容词或副词,that 后跟从句。
(2)引导结果状语从句还可以用 such...that...,意为“如此……以至于……”,such 后跟名词,that 后跟从句。
(3) so that意为“为的是,以便”,引导目的状语从句。
e.g.The little girl is so lovely that everybody likes her.
那个小姑娘是如此可爱以至于大家都喜欢她。
Jane is such a lovely girl that everybody likes her.
简是个如此可爱的女孩以至于大家都喜欢她。
Tom got up early so that he could get there early.
汤姆起得早,为的是能早点儿到那儿。

(2)so +形容词/副词

感叹句
一、感叹句的概念
  感叹句是用来表达较为强烈的情感(如惊讶、喜悦等)的句子。英语中的感叹句常用 What 或 How 来引导,它们与所修饰的词位于句首,其他部分用陈述语序。
二、感叹句的结构

三、what感叹句和how感叹句有时可以互换。

以上均为感叹句。用以表示喜、怒、哀、乐等强烈感情的句子叫作感叹句。感叹句句末常用感叹号,亦可用句号,一般读降调。常用的感叹句的构成方法有三种:
(1)陈述句、疑问句可构成感叹句。
e.g.It sounds great! 听起来真棒!
Isn’t it interesting! 真是有趣极了!
Collecting stamps must be great fun!集邮一定很有趣!
(2)单词或短语均可构成感叹句(省去其他句子成分)。
e.g.Oh, my god! 天啊!   Look! 瞧!   Look out! 小心!

(3)将感叹词how或what置于它所修饰的词前面,即可构成感叹句。【详见Section D 话题语法聚焦】

(1) sound作动词,意为“听起来”,作系动词用,后跟形容词、名词构成系表结构。
(2)sound作名词,意为“声音”, 可指自然界中的各种声音。
【拓展】 感官动词共有五个: sound 听起来;look看起来;smell 闻起来;taste 尝起来;feel摸起来,后面接形容词作表语,说明主语所处的状态。
