Point
1.—Where’s the dining hall
—It’s in front of the art building.（教材P36 1a)
where引导的特殊疑问句，用来询问“某人或某物在哪里”，be动词要与主语的人称和数保持一致。
如：Where are my keys 我的钥匙在哪里？

across指从物体表面横向穿过，常与walk、go、run等词连用。across from意为“在……对面”。
如：Alice stood up and ran across the field after the rabbit.
爱丽丝站起来，跑着穿过田地去追兔子。
Our school is just across from the bank.
我们学校在银行正对面。
【易混辨析】across, over与through
across 指从物体表面横向穿过，由一边到另一边。 You mustn’t go across the street when the traffic lights are red. 交通信号灯是红色的时候，你一定不要穿过街道。
over 多指从物体上方翻越或跨越。 He climbed over the mountains to get there. 他翻越高山到达了那里。
through 强调从物体内部或中间穿过。 The bird flew in through the window. 这只鸟是从窗户飞进来的。
between…and… 在……和……之间

3. The garden is between the school hall and the science building.(教材P36 1c)
连接两个并列的成分。其中between作介词，用于两者之间，也可用于三者或三者以上的两两之间。among 通常用于三者或三者以上的人或物之间。
如：There is a school between the hospital and the supermarket.
在医院和超市之间有一所学校。
She takes the medicine between meals.
她在两餐之间服药。
The song is very popular among the students.
