It will cost you around $30, and this is a very reasonable price for such a highly recommended and loved language learning app. The learning courses are highly interactive, and the ever present speech recognition feature ensures that you are getting the pronunciation right when you speak.
KidSpeak
This is a foreign language translation app that you can make use of, and it will cost you around$30. So, it is safe to say that the level of performance will be similar to that of Talk Now! This app is designed more for the use of children for its interesting videos.

Think about the last time you did something that you found difficult. Was it working out a puzzle or working hard on your math homework
Can you remember the expression you had on your face Most people will press their lips together and frown（皱眉）when they are doing something they find difficult. This is normally seen as a sign of effort. Now we’ve found that it can also say more than that.
A recent study at the University of Portsmouth in England suggests that the human expression of effort and frustration is our way of asking others for help.
Scientists at the university gave children and chimpanzees（黑猩猩）an impossible puzzle to work out. When the children couldn’t work out the puzzle, their faces expressed determination and effort. The chimpanzees’ did not.
Humans and chimpanzees have many facial expressions that share the same meaning. A human smile is the same as a chimpanzee showing its teeth in happiness.
Scientists believe that over time, humans have evolved to use this facial expression to ask for help. We have also learned to respond to it by offering help.
According to Dr. Albert Mehrabian, a well- known professor of psychology at the University of California, Los Angeles, only 7% of human communication happens through words and55% is through body language. Therefore, understanding expressions is second nature to human beings.
With this in mind, next time you see a person with a frustrated expression, listen to your heart and stop to lend them a hand.

Foreign visitors to the UK might be disappointed when they learn that not everyone there speaks like Harry Potter and his friends. Usually, there’s an assumption by many non- Brits that everyone in Britain speaks with what’s known as the Received Pronunciation（RP, 标准发音）accent, also called “the Queen’s English”. However, while many people do talk this way, most Britons speak in their own regional accents.
Scouse, Glaswegian and Black Country— from Liverpool, Glasgow and the West Midlands— are just three of the countless non-RP accents that British people speak with. There are even differences in accent s between towns or cities just 30 kilometers apart. What is even more disappointing is that not speaking in the RP accent may mean a British person is judged and even treated differently in their everyday life.
In a 2015study by the University of South Wales, videos of people reading a passage in three different UK accent s were shown to a second group of people. The group then rated how intelligent they thought the readers sounded. The lowest- rated accent was Brummie, native to people from Birmingham, a city whose accent is considered working class.
However, there is no need to be disappointed though you are not speaking in the RP accent. In fact, doing the opposite may even give you strength.
Kong Seongjae, 25, is an Internet celebrity from Seoul. After studying in the UK, he picked up several regional accents. He’s now famous for his online videos, where he shows off the various accents he’s learned. “British people usually get really excited when I use some of their local dialect words, and they become much friendlier. I think it makes a bit of bond between local people and foreigners to speak in their local accent,” he said.
So if you’re working on perfecting your British accent, try to speak like someone from Liverpool, Glasgow or Birmingham. You may not sound like Harry Potter, but you are likely to make more friends.

How to Learn English
When it comes to English learning, I’d like to share my own experiences to offer some advice on how to learn English well in senior high school.
When studying English at Senior high, I had difficulty in memorizing words and understanding grammar. I decided to face my problems and dealt with them bravely. First, I wrote the unfamiliar words and grammar rules on cards so that I could see them at any time and read them every day. In addition, I made the most of every opportunity to practice/ practice using the English words and grammar rules in real life situations. Reading English newspapers and magazines also helped me to better understand English words and grammar in different contexts, which is beneficial to my English learning. Just as the saying goes, “Practice makes perfect.” I made great progress step by step.
This experience made me realise/ realize that it is the creativity and complexity that makes English unique, interesting and enjoyable to learn. I feel more confident in learning English.

Good afternoon everyone. Before we start today’s lecture, I’d like to talk to you about your second paper because as you know if you’ve read the course outline, it’s worth 60% of your grade. Yes, 60%, so it’s obviously quite important and you should start thinking about it now. I know that on the course outline it says that both the first and second papers are 2.500 words long. That was true for the first paper but this one should be about 1,500 words longer. As far as the due date goes, the deadline is in six weeks, at the end of May. Throughout the term we’ve discussed several ancient civilizations but the theme of your second paper is women in ancient Rome. There are several areas you can focus on for your paper. Some of you have expressed an interest in writing about the status and role of these women but I want you to focus more. For example, you could look at their education and how this affected their role in society. Or you could consider their achievements in literature at that time. There are many possibilities, so I want you to start deciding on your topic and have it approved by either myself or one of the teachers by next Friday. If you have any questions, see me after class.
