The Cyber–security firm Lucideus Tech has launched SAFE Me, a cyber risk assessment app with versions aimed at regular users, enterprises and their senior executives.(主管
“Our ‘SAFE’ product, which we launched three years ago, provides the cyber risk status for your organization, all the way down to every single laptop, every single router( 路由器), every database, every cloud instance, ” said Saket Modi, co-founder and CEO of Lucideus Tech.

Modi says the app will remain ad-free and it does not require any special permission in order to show this risk assessment. The app will also let regular users take safety courses to improve their safety score. The more tests one answers in a correct way, the better their score becomes.
Enterprises on the other hand will be able to design and run their own safety campaigns in order to improve the security risks of their employees.“Even today, the largest of the Fortune 500 companies around the world don’t have any personalized module for cyber-security protection of their employees. So what we are trying to do with SAFE Me is give you a personal assistant, and you can count on it when it comes to knowing your own cyber-security risk status, ” he said.

About 50 years ago, the famous British band The Beatles sang that “money can’t buy me love”. Today, British economists are saying that it perhaps can’t buy you happiness either. This is showed by the happy planet index(HPI,快乐指数)published recently by the New Economics Foundation (NEF) in London.
The index(指数) is about how well countries are using their resources. It shows how well they provide people with better health and longer and happier lives, and at what cost to their environment.
It would seem to be common sense that people in richer countries live happier lives, while those in developing countries are having a harder time of it. But the results are surprising, even shocking. The numbers show that some of the so-called developed countries are performing very badly. The United States, for example, comes in at an unbelievable 150th. On the other hand, some little-known developing countries are doing a much better job. A tiny island in the Pacific, Vanuatu, comes in first. There are 178 countries and areas in the index. China ranks 31.
Countries are graded on the basis of information supplied in response to the following questions. How do people feel about their lives How long does the average person live How greatly does a country need to use its natural resources — such as oil, land and water — to maintain standards This is what the index calls the “ecological footprint”.
The NEF found that the people of island nations enjoy the highest HPI rankings. Their populations live happier and longer lives, and use fewer resources.
The results also seem to show that it is possible to live longer, happier lives with a much smaller environmental impact. The index points out that people in the US and Germany enjoy similar lives.
“However, Germany’s ecological footprint is only about half that of the US. This means that Germany is around twice as efficient as the US at producing happy lives, ” says Nic Marks, head of NEF’s Center for well-being.
So the happy planet index (HPI) tells us a brand-new concept of understanding “being happy”. HPI figures out different countries or individuals’HPI through their “Ecological Footprint” and “Life Satisfaction Level” or “Life Expectancy”. Clearly, people’s HPI is related to their consumption of the resources on the earth.
You can find out your own HPI by visiting http: //www. happyplanetindex. org
32. The passage is mainly about .
A. why money can’t buy you happiness
B. in which country people feel the happiest
C. the happy planet index published recently
D. what index can influence people’s happiness
33. According to the passage, the index has something to do with .
A. wealth, education, resources and health
B. lives, health, resources and the environment
C. pressure, accommodation, resources and health
D. education, money, the environment and resources
34. Countries that have low HPI rankings .
A. have far fewer happy people B. are only developing countries
C. do not enjoy plenty of resources D. have a greater impact on the environment
35. The comparison between Germany and the US shows that .
A. history and culture play an important role in people’s lives
B. not all the people in developed countries enjoy happy lives
C. it is possible to live happier and longer lives with fewer resources
D. some of the so-called developed countries are performing very badly.

Recognizing and accepting these differences is vital for tailoring effective and sustainable exercise programmes that meet a person’s needs.
A. Not everyone wants to get faster or be stronger.
B. There are various ways to meet people’s needs.
C. So what are the factors that contribute to varying needs

“No, little girl. You can’t get in without the money. ” Jeffrey, the bus driver, told a little girl who wanted to get on the bus but only had a few pennies. She must have been around seven years old, and he wasn’t in the mood to deal with unaccompanied children that day.
“Please, sir. I want to visit my grandmother, ” the little girl begged. “Then go ask your parents for the money and come back next time, ” Jeffrey replied and gestured with his hand for the girl to get out. She finally left the bus with her shoulders lowered. Jeffrey saw her sit down at the bus stop and drove off.
He finished his route and went home for the lunch, greeting his wife, Greta, and sitting down on the couch to rest. When he browsed his Facebook posts, an image caught his attention. A picture was shared of the little girl he had just turned away a few hours earlier. The word “Missing” was written on top of the image. He learned that the girl had disappeared a day ago, and her parents were desperately trying to find her.
“Dear! What have I done ” he asked himself, standing up and going to the front door. When Greta asked where he was going, Jeffrey said, “Greta! Quick! Call 911 and this number, ” showing her the picture of the girl. “I saw this girl at a bus stop earlier, and I turned her away because she didn’t have enough money. I’m going to find her, but please make those calls. ” Having told her where the bus stop was, he went out.
Jeffrey rushed to his car, speeding to the bus stop. Hopefully, the girl was smart enough to stay in one place. He couldn’t believe how careless he had been earlier. She was a little girl all alone. As he drove to the bus stop, Jeffrey vowed to be more careful in the future, especially when it came to children.

第四部分写作(共两节,满分40分)
第一节:应用文写作(满分15分)
Dear Leo,
I’m writing to share with you a harvesting activity on our campus farm last Friday. It was such a delightful and memorable experience that I couldn’t wait to tell you about it.
At the sight of the farm filled with ripe vegetables and fruits like peppers, tomatoes and grapes. we found it hard to contain our excitement. After receiving some instructions from the teachers, we plunged ourselves into the harvesting activity. We hustled and bustled around, each with a basket in hand, carefully gathering the fruits of our labor. Personally, I collected a variety of vegetables such as carrots, tomatoes and peppers. I even cooked them for my families, though, honestly speaking, they were a bit overcooked.
This activity not only brought me the joy of harvest but also taught me the value of labor, making the efforts on the campus farm truly worthwhile.
Yours,
Li Hua

A few minutes later, the police and another car approached them. A woman got out of the vehicle and rushed toward Sarah. Text 3
W: Peter, what are you going to do after graduation It’d be nice to go traveling for a few months, wouldn’t it
M: Yes, but I did that before coming to university. Actually, I’m hoping to get on a management course. But I’ve got a job interview next week, for a bank. I think I ought to be getting on with real life.

M: It’s not that different, really. But there’s a lot more money involved. And I love the sunny weather here because it means we can do a lot of filming outside. That’s something new for me because it was always cloudy in England so we didn’t use to do much outdoors.

M: And I’ve noticed that he hasn’t been very interested in practicing at home.

Text 10
Hello, my name is Franco and I’m a third-year university student. Today, I’m going to give you some guidance on choosing a university. When I first started looking at universities, like you, I was in my last year of high school. I thought my parents would focus on course fees or the accommodation that the university can offer you. But it was the location of the university that bothered them most. Then I revised my list after hearing their advice.
All universities hold open days. You get to meet various people, tutors and students of course, and you can ask any question you like. I found social program officers the most useful to know what it would be like to be a student here. So once you know which university to go, you must read the course introduction. More importantly, you have to study the unit guide to get the details. Think carefully about money. You need to add up the course fees and the cost of course materials. Then check out the cost of living of the city. OK. We still have time for questions.
