To make some of my landscape shots, I have traveled up to four hours away to shoot within a 10-minute time frame. I tend to travel with a few of my friends to state parks or to the countryside to go on adventures and take photos along the way.Being at the right place at the right time is decisive in any style of photography. I often leave early to seek the right destinations so I can set up early to avoid missing the moment I am attempting to photograph. I have missed plenty of beautiful sun sets and rises due to being on the sport only five minutes before the best moment. One time my friends and I drove three hours t0Devil’s Lake, Wisconsin, to climb the purple quartz(石英) rock around the lake. After we found a crazy-looking road that hung over a bunch of rocks, we decided to photograph the scene at sunset. The position enabled us to look over the lake with the sunset in the background. We managed to leave this spot to climb higher because of the spare time until sunset. However, we did not mark the route(路线)so we ended up almost missing the sunset entirely. Once we found the place, it was stressful getting lights and cameras set up in the limited time. Still looking back on the photos, they are some of my best shots though they could have been so much better if I would have been prepared and managed my time wisely.24.How does the author deal with the challenge as a landscape photographer in the Midwest A. By teaming up with other photographers. B. By shooting in the countryside or state parks.C. By studying the geographical conditions. D. By creating settings in the com fields.25. What is the key to successful landscape photography according to the author A. Proper time management. B. Good shooting techniques.C. Adventurous spirit. D. Distinctive styles.26.What can we infer from the author’s trip with friends to Devil’s Lake A. They went crazy with the purple quartz rock B. They felt stressed while waiting for the sunset.C. They reached the shooting spot later than expected. D. They had problems with their equipment.27. How does the author find his photos taken at Devil's Lake A. Amusing. B. Satisfying. C. Encouraging. D. Comforting.CA team of scientists is studying the sound of the forest in Ecuador to learn how artificial intelligence (Al) could follow animal life in recovering/environmentsWhen scientists want to measure new forest growth, they can study large areas of land with tools like satellites. But understanding how fast and in what number wildlife is returning to an area is more difficult. Sometimes it requires an expert to listen through sound recordings and pick out animal calls.Jorg Muller, an expert on birds, wondered if there was a different way. So, he turned to bioacoustics (生物声学), which uses sound to learn more about animal life and their living environments. Muller and his team recorded wildlife sounds in Ecuador. They first had experts listen to the recordings and list the sounds of different animals. Then, they examined the sound quality to measure the environment. Finally, they ran two weeks of recordings through an AI computer program trained to understand 75 different bird calls. The program was able to pick out the calls on which it was trained. However, scientists wondered if the program could correctly identify the number of different kinds of plants and animals in each environment. To see if the program could do that, the team used two different controls. One was from the experts who listened to the recordings, and the second was based on examples from each environment, which can be used to understand biodiversity (生物多样性) .Since the number of sounds that are found to be used to train is limited, the Al program could only identify one-fourth of the bird calls experts could. But it was still able to correctly measure biodiversity levels in each environment, the study said. It also said the results show the Al program is a powerful tool to measure the recovery of animal societies in some forests. The study showed that biodiversity found from recordings can be measured in a cost-effective and complete way and measure environments. There are still areas for improvement, including the lack of animal sounds on which to train Al models. And the method can only catch animals that use sound to communicate.28. What does the study focus on A. Studying plant growth. B. Observing birds’ behavior.C. Understanding Al’s effect on wildlife. D. Measuring wildlife recovery.29. What method did the team use to learn wildlife sounds in Eduador A. Bioacoustics. B. Satellite recording.C. Sound recording by Al. D. Direct observation by experts.30. What did the AI program prove to be useful for A. Identifying plant species. B. Tracking weather change.C. Measuring biodiversity levels. D. Identifying all the bird calls.31. What did the study suggest for improvements A. Measuring more bird cnvironments.B. Catching mnimals that use sound to communicate.C. Training the program on a wider variety of soundsD. Having experts study more and understand bird calls.DDo you remember what you had for dinner two weeks ago today What about two years ago For most people, recalling such details is a challenge, but it’s a different story for individuals with hyperthymesia (Highly Superior Autobiographical Memory, HSAM). This rare condition, allows them to clearly remember numerous life experiences, including specific dates, times, locations and even small details from many years ago. As of 2021, only 62 people worldwide have been identified with this ability. However, memories recalled by HSAM individuals are highly self-centered: they can only remember past experiences and details about themselves. Yet their ability to memorize impersonal information, such as random lists of words, appears to be no better than average. Unlike others with exceptional memory, HSAM individuals do not rely on specific memory strategies to remember information. Their recall is often described as an “involuntary” process. where memories come to mind without effort or conscious awareness. While HSAM may seem like a desirable ability, it can also be a liability for those who possess it. People with HISAM may find it difficult to forget painful or negative experiences, which can potentially lead to anxiety and depression. They may also struggle to remain focused on the present moment, as their-minds are constantly flooded with memories from the past.Despite brain scans failing to reveal significant physical differences, researchers believe people with HSAM possess distinct thinking patterns and habits that contribute to their remarkable memory abilities. Specifically, they show high- concentration levels and a tendency for fantasy (想象) allowing them to think about past experiences repeatedly and thereby strengthening their ability to recall memories. Unlike the average person who may experience this process after significant events, HSAM individuals do so day in and day out throughout their lives. McGaugh. a research professor in neurobiology and behavior at the University of California, says that further research on HSAM may provide new insights into how the brain stores and retrieves (检索) memories, potentially helping the fight against Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of memory loss.32. Who is the most likely to get HSAM A. Daniel who learns difficult concepts effortlessly.B. James who memorizes lists of random words quickly.C. Rebecca who is familiar with historic events in the world.D. Michael who remembers almost every item from his childhood.33. What does the underlined word “liability” in paragraph 3 probably mean A. Shame. B. Burden. C. Protection. D. Advantage.34. What do we know about people with HSAM A. They tend to think more positively. B. They have unique brain structures.C. They adopt specific memory strategies. D. They constantly recall their past experiences.35. What is the purpose of the passage A. To provide tips on improving memory. B. To present the trouble caused by HASM.C. To introduce the rare condition of HASM. D. To explain complex human thinking patterns.第二节 (共5小题;每小题2. 5分,满分12. 5分)根据短文内容,从短文后的选项安选出能填入空白处的最佳选项。选项中在两项为多余选项。Indoor plants might look as if they just sit around not doing much, but in many ways they are the unsung heroes of the home.36____________,but studies have shown that they can promote peoples wellbeing by improving their mood(心情),reducing stress and helping their memory. I lived on that phone all summer with my face buried in its screen. I ignored (忽视) my family and my surroundings. Being connected was more important than being present. So, you can imagine my displeasure when I learned what my dad had planned for our family vacation that year. “This year.” my dad said, “we’ll be doing something special. We’re going camping!” His excitement was met with a disappointed sigh. It wasn’t my dream vacation because mind was on my phone. I was so buried in the screen, in fact, that the first time I can remember truly looking up was when we drove across a bridge on the way to our campsite.I stared out the window and saw redwoods towering above us, their branches threatening to pierce (刺破) the blue sky. I saw a roaring river with slivers of silky black water appearing between crashing white rapids. The air blowing into the car from the open windows was hot. But none of that mattered to me. The reason I bad looked up was for something far more serious: my phone no longer had service. The last hour of the drive was increasingly tense. My dad announced that he had chosen a campsite that had no cell service, and that my phone would be useless until we returned home. I would be trapped in the forest for four days with no way to contact the outside world! I went through the full cycle of teenage emotions during the first day of the trip. I raged (愤怒). I bargained. 1 begged. I flip-flopped (转变) from a depressive state to anger and back.I went to bed angrily that night. But when I awoke in the morning, something had changed.注意:1. 所续写短文的词数应为150左右;2, 续写部分分为两段,每段的开头语已为您写好。Instead of burying myself in my phone, I focused on something else: my surroundings. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________The next four days passed in a flash with many fun activities. ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________武汉市吴家山中学2024-2025学年度上学期10月考高一 英语试卷 参考答案第一部分 听力(共两节,满分30分)1-5 CCBCA 6-10 ABBAB 11-15 CBABC 16-20 CABAC第二部分 阅读(共20小题,每小题2. 5分,满分50分)21-23 ADC 24-27 BACB 28-31 DACC 32-35 DBDC36-40 BDCEG第三部分 语言运用(共两节,满分30分)第一节 完形填空(共15小题;每小题1分,满分15分)41-45 CADCB 46-50 AADBB 51-55 ACCDA第二节 语法填空(共10小题;每小题1. 5分,满分15分)56. referred 57. which 58. to make 59. surviving 60. are employed61. Feeling frustrated is normal, but don't worry, things will improve. First, try to communicate openly and calmly. Share your feelings and listen to theirs. Second, set up regular family activities to strengthen your bond. Lastly, if you feel overwhelmed, consider talking to a counselor or a trusted teacher for support. I hope these suggestions help, and I'm here for you anytime.Yours sincerely,Li Hua第二节(满分25分)Instead of burying myself in my phone, I focused on something else: my surroundings. The redwoods and river were breathtaking. Without my phone, I noticed the sunlight through the leaves, the wind in the branches, and the birds' songs. Walking by the river, I felt the sun and the cool water, experiencing nature deeply. My mind cleared, and I felt at peace. The next four days passed in a flash with many fun activities. Each morning, my dad and I hiked, explored trails, and discovered views. We fished, cooked over the campfire, and shared stories under the stars. Playing frisbee with my siblings, I laughed and enjoyed their company. Evenings were spent around the campfire, roasting marshmallows and telling ghost stories. Without my phone, I was more present, and the connections with my family grew stronger. By the end, I appreciated the value of disconnecting from technology and reconnecting with nature and loved ones.录音稿(Text 1)W: What time does the party start M: It starts at 8 o’clock.
