Lesson 103 单词讲解
1. exam [ ɡ'z m] n.考试
examination [ ɡ z m 'ne n]
test 水平考试
I failed the exam and feel terrible. 我考试不及格，感到很糟糕。
He is studying hard for the exam. 他正在为考试努力学习。
I will take the exam next week. 我下周将参加考试。
2. pass [pɑ s] v. 及格，通过
He passed the driving test finally.
3. mathematics [ m θ 'm t ks] n. 数学
maths/math
I am good at mathematics. 我擅长数学。
4. question ['kwest n] n. 问题
answer the question
I have a lot of questions about the exam. 我对考试有很多问题。
5. easy ['i zi] adj. 容易的
I find it easy to learn English. 我发觉学英语不难。
6. enough [ 'n f] adv. 足够地 adj.足够的
easy enough 足够简单
enough money 足够多的钱
7. paper ['pe p (r)] n.考卷
The English paper is too difficult.
The math paper is easy enough.
8. fail [fe l] 不及格，未通过；失败

What a stupid idiot! 真是个愚蠢的白痴！
He is too stupid to pass the exam.
3. cheap [t i p] adj. 便宜的
Her shoes look cheap. 她的那双鞋看上去很便宜。
The bicycle is cheap enough for me to buy.
4. expensive [ k'spens v] adj. 昂贵的
The dress is too expensive for me to buy.

That pear is soft enough for her to eat.

The dish is too sour for me to eat.
Lesson 103 课文讲解
1. How was the exam 考试考得怎么样？
2. Not too bad. 还好啦，凑合。
3. I think I passed in English and Mathematics. 我想我的英语和数学及格了。
如果说通过某一个考试，直接用动词pass
pass the exam 通过考试
如果说通过某一个科目，则用 pass in
I passed in German, but failed in English. 他德语考试及格了，但英语没及格。
4. The English and Maths papers weren't easy enough for me.
"paper" 这个词当”试卷“讲时，是可数名词。
5. I could answer sixteen of the questions. They were very easy. But I couldn't answer the rest. They were too difficult for me.
can-could (过去式）

too difficult 太难（以至于不会，暗含否定）
for me: 对我来说
the rest，剩余部分。这里指其余的题，注重rest与定冠词连用的用法。
Throw the rest away. 把剩下的丢掉。
6. Frech tests are awful, aren't they 法语考试非常讨厌，不是吗？
这是反意疑问句
7. Cheer up! Perhaps we didn't do too badly. 振作起来，或许我们考得还不太糟.
8. The guy next to me wrote his name at the top of his paper.
next to，邻近，贴近
the ones on the shelf
at the top of，在……顶端。反义词为 at the bottom of（在……末端）。
9. He didn't write a word! 他一个字也没写。
He didn't say a word! 他一句话也没说。
Lesson 103 语法讲解
1. too，enough与 very
（1）enough的用法
A. 在形容词或副词之后使用：
He failed the exam because it wasn't easy enough.
他考试不及格，因为题不够容易。（不说 enough easy）
He is old enough to go to school.
B. 在名词之前使用：
He didn' t buy the car because he didn't have enough money.
他没买那部车，因为他没有足够的钱。
记住这两个：
easy enough
enough money
He did not write _________, though(尽管) he had _______________.
A. careful enough; enough time
B. carefully enough; enough time
C. enough careful; enough time
D. enough carefully; time enough
B 【解析】试题分析：句意：他写的不是足够的认真，尽管他有足够的时间。Enough修饰形容词或副词要后置；enough做形容词词修饰名词，放在名词的前面。结合语境，故选B。
C. 可以用在 enough… for sb．/sth．和 enough… to do sth．结构之中：
She hasn't got enough money for a holiday.
她没有足够的钱去度假。
This dress isn't big enough for her.
这件衣服对她来说不够大。
She's not old enough to live alone.
她未到独自生活的年纪。
（2）too的用法
A. too 表示“过于”, "太” （以至于不能，含有否定含义）
I can't go out. It's too hot. 我无法外出，太热了。
She couldn't answer the questions because they were too
difficult for her. 她无法回答问题，因为对她来说太难了。
The apple is too sweet. 这个苹果太甜了。
B. 可以用在 too…for sb．/sth．结构之中：
This skirt is too big for me.
这条裙子对我来说太大了。
It's too easy for me.
这对我来说太轻易了。
C. 可以用在 too…to do sth．结构之中：
too...to... 太......以至于不能......
The exam was too difficult for him to pass.
考试太难了，以至于他无法通过。
The box is too heavy for you to carry.
这个盒子太沉了，你没法扛起。
She is too young to live alone.
她年纪太小了，无法独自生活。
It's too far to walk home from here.
从这儿步行回家太远了。
He walks too slowly to get there on time. 他走得太慢，以至于不能按时到达那儿。
He is too busy to see me. 他太忙根本没时间见我。
请比较：
The wall is too high for them to climb over.
这堵墙太高了，他们无法攀越过去。
The wall is low enough for them to climb over.
这堵墙矮到如此之程度，以至于他们可以攀越过去。
