Lesson 137 单词讲解
1. football ['f tb l] n. 足球
He enjoys playing football after school. 他喜欢放学后踢足球。
The boy who is playing football is my cousin. 那个正在踢足球的男孩是我的表弟。
2. pool [pu l] n. 赌注；游泳池
We often swim in the swimming pool. 我们经常在游泳池里游泳。
This is the biggest swimming pool I've ever seen. 这是我见过的最大的游泳池。
The kids enjoy swimming in the swimming pool during the summer holidays. 孩子们喜欢在暑假期间在游泳池里游泳。
3. win [w n] v. 赢

Who won the game 谁赢了比赛？
The boy who won the game is my brother. 那个赢了比赛的男孩是我弟弟。
4. world [w ld] n. 世界
He is the richest man in the world. 他是世界上最富有的人。
There is a map of the world on the wall. 墙上有张世界地图。
He is rich enough to travel around the world. 他足够富有，可以环游世界。
He is so rich that he can travel around the world.
5. poor [p ] adj. 贫穷的
The children in the poor village don't have enough food to eat.
那个贫困村庄的孩子们没有足够的食物吃。
The poor guy you met five years ago is a millionaire now. 你5年前碰到的那个穷小伙现在是个百万富翁了。
He was too poor to afford a coat. 他太穷了，买不起一件外套。
6. depend [d 'pend] v. 依赖；依靠(on)；取决于
depend on 依赖；依靠；取决于；随 ... 而定
He is a man whom you can depend on. 他是个你可以信赖的人。
You can't depend on luck all the time. You need to work hard.
你不能总是依赖运气，你需要努力工作。
I have no one to depend on. 我没有人可以依靠。
If we study hard, we will pass the exam. It depends on us.
如果我们努力学习，我们就会通过考试。这取决于我们自己。
Lesson 137 课文讲解
1． Are you doing the football pools 你正在下足球赛的赌注吗？
football pools 是英国流行的一种赌博方式，靠在足球比赛结果上的赌注来决定输赢。
2. You always say that. 你老是那样说。
You always say so.
You always do that/so.
3．What will you do if you win a lot of money 假如你赢了许多钱，你打算做什么呢？
What will you do if you fail the exam 如果你考试不及格，你会怎么办？
What will you do if you fail to get into high school？ 如果你考不上高中，你会怎么办？
4．I'll buy you a mink coat！= I'll buy a mink coat for you！
buy sb. sth.= buy sth. for sb. 给某人买某物
5．I want to see the world. 我想看看这个世界。
see the world 看世界
travel round the world 周游世界
6. If we win a lot of money, we'll trave round the world and we'll stay at the best hotels. 要是我们赢了很多钱，我们就去周游世界，并且住最好的酒店。
stay at the best hotels 住最好的酒店( stay：则更多地强调暂时的停留或逗留)
live：住
I live in Beijing."（我住在北京。）这句话表达的是长期居住的状态。
7． What'll we do then 那时我们怎么办呢？ 句中then意为“到那时”（指将来）。
8．It's a pleasant dream, but everything depends on "if"! 这是个美好的梦，但一切都取决于“如果”！

If it rains, we can't play outside. It depends on the weather.
如果下雨，我们就不能在外面玩。这取决于天气。

Lesson 137 -138 语法讲解
由if引导的真实条件状语从句
状语：状语描述了动作发生的时间、地点、原因、目的、结果、方式等。通俗来讲，状语就像是句子的“小助手”，帮助我们更清楚地了解动作发生的具体情况。
条件状语：表示动作发生的条件或前提。
条件状语从句：句子作条件状语
基本结构：从句：If +一般现在时 主句：一般将来时（简称：主将从现）
If it rains tomorrow, we won't go to the seaside. 假如明天下雨，我们就不去海边。
if从句中的现在时表示需具备的条件，主句中的shall/will将来时表示可能的结果。具备的条件是真实的，可能真的下雨。假如是这样，它就会有真实的结果。这就是为什么这样的陈述句常被称为“开放”条件句或“真实”条件句的原因。
If he falls ,he'll hurt himself.假如他摔倒了，他会伤着自己的。
You will fall behind, if you give up. 如果你放弃，你就会落后。
If you don't hurry ,we'll miss the train.你要是不赶紧点儿，我们就会误了火车。
If you feel better, you can get up.你要是感觉好些了的话，你就能起床了。
If I am better tomorrow, I will get up.假如我明天感觉好些了，我就起床下地。
If I can afford it, I will buy it.要是我买得起的话我就会买它。
If it rains tomorrow, we will cancel the picnic.如果明天下雨，我们就会取消野餐。
If it doesn’t rain tomorrow, we will go to the seaside. 如果明天不下雨，我们就去海边。
If you study hard, you will pass the exam.如果你努力学习，你就会通过考试。
If you don't study hard, you won't pass the exam.如果你不努力学习，你就不会通过考试。
If he finishes his homework, he can play video games.如果他完成了作业，他就可以玩电子游戏。
If he doesn't finish his homework, he can't play video games.如果他没有完成作业，他就不能玩电子游戏。
