Lesson 89 单词讲解
believe [b 'li v] v. 相信，认为
He is not honest (诚实的). Don't believe him.
Believe it or not ， he asked me to marry him. 信不信由你，他向我求婚。
-Does he still work there 他还在那儿工作吗？
-I believe so/not. 我想是 /不是的。
2. may [me ]
1). （用于请求许可）可以
May I ...
Can I ...
May I use your bicycle 我可以用你的自行车吗？
2). （表示可能性）可能，或许
I may be late, so don't wait for me. 我可能会迟到，所以不要等我。
3. how long
1). 表示多长时间，对一段时间进行提问。
-How long have you lived in Hefei
How long are you going to stay here
How long have you learned English
你学英语多久了？
For 3 years./Since 3 years ago./Since I came to this school.
三年了。/从三年前开始。/从我来到这所学校。
2). 表示某东西有多长。
How long is the river
这条河有多长
About 500 km.

4. since [s ns] 自从
I haven’t written home since Christmas. 自圣诞节以来， 我未曾写信回家。
She has been in Hefei since 2014.
5. why [wa ] 为什么
Why are you crying

6. sell [sel] 卖，出售

（1）相当于……价值，值……钱：

（2）具有……价值；值得：
be worth sth./doing sth.
The museum is worth a visit. 这家博物馆值得参观。
That city is worth visiting. 那座城市值得一游。
Is the film worth seeing 这部电影值得一看吗？

Lesson 89 课文讲解
1．I believe that this house is for sale. 我想这房子是要出售的吧！
believe是“相信”、“认为”的意思，后可跟某人或名词性从句。如：
I believe you. 我相信你（说的话）。
I believe that he has already gone to London.
我认为他已经去伦敦了。
for sale意为“待售”。
We have many types of cosmetics for sale.
我们有许多种化妆品待售。
that 无意义，可省略
2. May I have a look at it, please
--May I use your bathroom I want to have a bath here.
--Of course. Go ahead.
3．How long have you lived here 您在这里住了多长时间？
how long常用于询问时间的长短与物体的长度。
4．since 1976, 从 1976年起。
这是介词短语，since在这里是介词。用这个介词短语作时间状语的句子中，谓语要用完成时。
5．How much does this house cost 这座房子卖多少钱？
=How much is the house
=How much is the house worth
6. 68，500
百：hundred
千：thousand
万：ten thousand
十万：one hundred thousand
百万：million
892: eight hundred and ninety-two
6734: six thousand seven hundred and thirty-four
35210: thirty-five thousand two hundred and ten
7. It's worth every penny of it. 它确确实实值这么多钱。（一分价钱一分货）
有强调的意思，后面的一个it是指刚才提到的那笔钱。
8．…I can't decide yet．……我还不能决定。
句中的yet常见于否定句，表示“迄今仍未”的意思。
9. My wife must see it first. 我的妻子必须先来看一看。
must "必须", 情态动词
first 首先；第一
-Let's play tennis, OK -我们来打网球，好吗？
-Sorry, I must finish homework first. -抱歉，我得先做完作业。
8. Women always have the last word. 女人总是最后说了算的。
have the last word 说了算，最后拍板
My mother has the last word in my family. 我们家我妈说了算。
I have the last word now. 现在我说了算。
Lesson 89-90 语法讲解
一. 现在完成时两种用法：
a. 过去已经完成的动作，对现在造成影响。(完成用法）
标志词：just, already,before, never, ever, yet...
I have finished my homework.
b. 动作从过去延续到现在，可能还要继续下去。（未完成用法）
标志词：since, for...
在这种情况下，它一般与for+ 一段时间、since+ 某个时间点连用。
for+ 时间段
She has lived in Hefei for ten years.
He has studied English for ten years.
since+时间点, 表示某个动作是何时开始的。
She has lived here since 2013.
Since her husband died, Mrs Jackson has lived alone in her big old house.
二. 记住不规则动词的过去式和过去分词（L88课和L90课）
课堂小练习：
用for和since填空。
