1. conductor [k n'd kt (r)] 售票员
The conductor asked me to show my ticket. 售票员要求我出示车票。
The conductor is the kindest person I have ever seen.
这个售票员是我见过的最善良的人.
2. fare [fe (r)] 车费，车票
He didn't have enough money to pay his train fare. 他没有足够的钱来付火车费。
Fares/Tickets, please! 请买票！
3. change [t e nd ]
（1）v. 兑换：
I want to change the pounds intodollars. 我想把这些英镑兑换成美元。
Could you change me a one-pound note, please 能否请你换一镑的零钱给我？
（2）零钱，找回的钱（不可数）
-What else do you want 你还要什么呢？（新1 Lesson 59）
-I want my change.我要找的零钱。
4. note [n t] 纸币
coin 硬币
Please give me a note instead of coins. 请给我纸币, 不要硬币。
I don't have a ten-pound note, so I have to use coins instead.
我没有十英镑的纸币，所以我只能用硬币代替。
5. passenger ['p s nd (r)] 乘客
All passengers must show their tickets to the conductor. 所有乘客必须向售票员出示车票。
The bus is full of passengers. 公共汽车上挤满了乘客。
6. none [n n] 没有任何东西
None of these pens works/work. 这些钢笔没有一支能用。
We have three sons but none of them lives/live nearby. 我们有三个儿子，但他们都不住附近。
None of the work was done. 那些工作全都未干。
7. neither ['na (r)] 也不; 两者都不
I don't like coffee, and neither does my sister. 我不喜欢咖啡，我妹妹也不喜欢。
He doesn't speak French, and neither do I. 他不会说法语，我也不会。
She didn't pass the test, and neither did her friend. 她没通过考试，她的朋友也没通过。
-I can't understand a word of it.-我一个字都弄不懂。
-Neither can I. 我也是。
8. get off 下车
get on the bus 上公交车
Don't get off the bus before it stops. 公交车停稳前不要下车。
The girl is getting off the bus. 那个女孩正在下公共汽车。
9. tramp [tr mp] 流浪汉
A tramp came to the door and asked for food. 一个流浪汉来到门前讨饭吃。
10. except [ k'sept] 除......外
They all went to sleep except me. 除我之外，他们都去睡觉了。
Lesson 113 课文讲解
1. Fares, please! 请买票！
2．I can't change a ten-pound note. 我找不开 10英镑的钞票。
1). 这里 change是动词，意为“兑换”。change还可作名词，意为“零钱”，如课文中的 I've got no small change, I'm afraid。此外，“no +名词” 表示所指的东西全然没有。以上这句话比 I haven't got any small change更强调没有任何一点儿零钱。
2).a ten-pound note 一张十英镑的纸币
a two-bedroom apartment 一个有两间卧室的公寓
a ten-year-old boy 一个十岁的男孩
3. Haven't you got any small change 你就没有零钱吗？
4. I've got no small change, I'm afraid. 恐怕我没有零钱。
这里no +名词= not any+名词
I have no friends=I don't have any friends.
There is no water in the bottle. =There isn't any water in the bottle.
There were no books on the shelf.= There weren't any books on the shelf.
5. I'll ask some of the passengers. 我来问问其他乘客。
some of + 可数名词的复数或不可数名词
I like some of the books on the shelf . 我喜欢书架上的一些书。
Would you like some of the coffee 你想要喝点咖啡吗？
6. -Have you any small change, sir 先生，您有零钱吗？
-I'm sorry. I've got none. 对不起，我没有？
none 的用法：
1). none 是 all 的反义词，“没有人，没有什么东西，一个也不”，既可以指人，也可以指物。
None of the money on the table is mine. 桌子上的钱没有一分是我的。
None of the work was done. 那些工作全都未干。
2). none of 与复数名词，代词或单数集合名词连用时，动词用单数或复数均可。
We have three sons but none of them lives/live nearby. 我们有三个儿子，但他们都不住附近。
None of her family has/have been to college. 她的一家谁都没上过大学。
None of these pens works/work. 这些钢笔没有一支能用。
none在句中也通常单独使用。
7. Except us．我们俩除外。意思是：除了我们，他们都是百万富翁。
except 除......外
I like all fruits except apples. 除了苹果之外，我喜欢所有的水果。
Everyone came to the party except Tom. 除了汤姆，每个人都来参加派对了。
She does her homework every day except weekends. 她每天都做作业，除了周末。

so与neither引导的简短回答
以so 或neither开头的简短回答，必须用倒装形式，即： So／Neither +助动词/情态动词/be+主语。假如前一句是肯定的，后一句就用so开头；如前一句是否定的，后一句则用neither 开头。前后两句的时态要一致。
以So开头的句子（肯定回答）
-She is a teacher.
-I am a teacher, too. =So am I.
-I can speak French.
-I can speak French, too. =So can I.
-He does his homework every day.
-I do my homework every day, too. =So do I.
- I like spicy food.
-She likes spicy food, too. =So does she .
-I saw Tom yesterday.
-I saw Tom yesterday , too. =So did I.
以Neither开头的句子（否定回答）
-He is not tall.-
-I'm not tall, either. =Neither am I.
-He can't swim.
- I can't swim, either. =Neither can I.
-They do not eat fast food .
- We don't eat fast food, either. =Neither do we.
-Tom doesn't like playing the piano.
-She doesn't like playing the piano, either. =Neither does she.
-They didn't watch TV .
-We didn't watch TV ,either. =Neither did we.
-I didn't go to school last week.
-I didn't go to school, either. =Neither did I.
-I haven't had dinner.
-She hasn't had dinner, either. =Neither has she.
-I haven't had dinner, either.=Neither have I.
