work hard to take the lead in the cleanup, more people will join us to protect Dianchi Lake, and the lake will return

Are you interested in trains 49 It isn’t easy. All the trains have to be clean, the engineers need to
check to see if everything is working, someone needs to sell the tickets, and the trains must leave and arrive on time.
And, most importantly — the trains must be safe.
50 But in Budapest, Hungary, there is a special railway. Most staff members who work there are
children. The name of the railway is Children’s Railway. 51 And it is still taking passengers on journeys
through the hills in the west of the city. The train drivers and engineers are adults, but all the other staff members,
from the ticket sellers to the station managers, are children between 10 and 14 years old. The children are all
volunteers, which means they don’t get paid. 52 Anyone who doesn’t get good marks at school can’t get
a job on the railway. The children who get jobs have two days off from school every month to work on the railway.
The trains of Children’s Railway aren’t toys or models. 53 Each year over 300, 000 passengers take
the trains to get to work, visit friends or just to see how well the children do their jobs!
A. Children’s Railway first opened to passengers in 1948.
B. They are an important part of the railway system in Budapest.
C. Have you ever thought about the work people do on the railways
D. The children in Budapest are lucky to work on the Children’s Railway.
E. Almost everywhere in the world, the staff members on the railways are adults.
F. Every year, lots of children want to work on the railway, but not all of them can get a job there.

Both the squire (乡绅) and Dr. Livesey were very excited when I showed these papers to them. “Livesey,” said
the squire, “we must stop work immediately. Tomorrow I’ll go to Bristol. In ten days we’ll have the best ship and
crew (船员) in England. Hawkins will come as the cabin-boy. You, Livesey, will be the ship’s doctor. I can be the
captain. We will have a good journey, and easily find the treasure. Then we’ll have enough money to live happily
ever after.”
“Of course. I’ll come with you,” said the doctor. “But we must be careful. The men who attacked the inn know
about this map. They are dangerous and they also want the treasure. None of us must say a word to anyone about
what we’ve found.”
For safety, I stayed at the Hall. The squire was in Bristol getting a ship, and Dr. Livesey was in London
finishing work. I spent hours looking at the map. I learnt every detail by heart!
Some weeks later the squire sent a letter: he had a ship called the Hispaniola, and a crew. He seemed very
pleased with his work.
I travelled to Bristol with Tom Redruth, one of the squire’s servants. We met the squire and Dr. Livesey. I
couldn’t believe that I was really going to sea, to search for treasure on an unknown island.
Long John Silver was the ship’s cook and he knew many of the crew. The squire said he had one leg. Now, to
tell you the truth, I was afraid that Long John Silver was the same one-legged sailor that the captain talked to me
about in the inn. But, as soon as I saw him, I felt relieved (宽心的). Silver had an intelligent, smiling face, and was
very different from the captain, Black Dog and blind Pew.
“Mr. Silver, sir ” I asked, holding out the note. “Oh! I see, Hawkins,” he said, looking at it, “You’re our new
cabin-boy. Pleased to meet you.”
Just then, a customer got up suddenly and left. I saw that he was missing two fingers.
“Stop him!” I cried. “It’s Black Dog!”...
