词语运用
Mr Smith is a physics 1.　 　(teach). He teaches very well. He is also a headmaster, so he often teaches his students a lot about life in physics. Once in class, he asked his students, “2.　 　 do we have brakes (制动器) in our cars ” Soon, students gave different answers. 3.　 　student stood up and replied, “Sir, to stop the car.” Another one said, “To control the speed of the car.”

make a difference的用法
A Christmas Carol was written to make every reader think about how they could make a difference to their society.
make a difference意为“起作用;有影响”。
make a difference中的a可以替换为不同的修饰语,从而表达不同的意思。例如:
根据汉语提示完成句子。

afford的用法
These houses are so expensive that he can't afford to buy one.
afford为动词,常与 can/could 或can't/couldn't等连用,意为“负担得起/不起某事或某物的费用/损失/后果”等,其搭配如下:
