Benjamin Franklin famously founded (创建) America’s first lending library in 1731. But the public library system got its biggest development in the American history in the late 1800’s. A smart home is a home with a network (网络). The network connects (连接) with lights and TV sets, so that people connect them from far away by lines, mobile phone or WiFi over the Internet.

(24-25八年级上·广西河池·期中)Artificial intelligence (AI) can now do amazing things. ChatGPT is an AI that can answer questions, tell stories, and do much more. But it’s very “thirsty”, said a new study.
When ChatGPT works, its “home”—data (数据) centers around the world—gets very hot. Workers then have to use water to cool them down. Cold water goes into pipes (管道) near the computers at these centers. Because the computers are very hot, the water turns into vapor (水蒸气) and goes into the air. The water needs to be super clean. If they use sea water, it can eat away the pipes.
If you ask ChatGPT 20 to 50 questions, it needs to “drink” a 500-milliliter bottle of water. When people trained ChatGPT, it used 700,000 liters of water, said the study. This is the amount that is needed to make about 370 cars.
ChatGPT is not the only one that needs data centers. Everything you do on the Internet needs data centers to work. There are more than 8,000 data centers in the world, said a report in 2021. The number is still growing. If AI keeps using a lot of water, we may have to “fight” with AI for water.

These talent shows give everyone an opportunity to show their talents. For some lucky people, these talent shows may make them famous, and can even make them rich. However, there are also many bad sides. First, some young people just imitate (模仿) their favorite stars. They may forget about their own styles. Second, young people spend too much time on these TV shows. They always dream of being stars. So they spend less time on their studies.
In my opinion, young people can get social experience by taking part in these shows. But they should know that the chance of becoming famous in this way is very small for most people. How to get around
Bangkok’s traffic can be terrible. You will spend hours waiting on the way because of the heavy traffic if you take a taxi—but there are two much better ways to get around the city. To visit the temples and historical sites, catch a fast boat or a long tail boat along the Chao Phraya River.
Where to eat
The simple answer is: everywhere! The Thai street food is among the best in the world, and for around $5 you can eat a big and delicious meal.
