We learn different subjects to gain (收获) knowledge. Each subject teaches us different skills and ideas.
Math helps us with numbers and problem-solving, while science
explores (探索) the natural world.
Learning languages lets us to talk with people from different

考点1：Why 的用法
【原文】 Why do you like this subject 你为什么喜欢这个科目？
【用法】 why作疑问副词，其引导的特殊疑问句用来询问原因、理由。其结构为“Why＋一般疑问句？”，回答时，一般用“Because ...”，此处because是连词，其后要接一个句子来陈述原因、理由。
【易错点】 在英语一个句子中不能同时出现 because 和 so。
考点 1：Why 的用法
【例句】 —Why are you late for school 你为什么上学迟到了？
—Because it is raining. 因为正在下雨。
Because I am very busy, I can’t go out with you.
因为我太忙，所以我不能同你出去。
I am very busy, so I can’t go out with you.
因为我太忙，所以我不能同你出去。
【拓展】because of “因为，由于”，是一个短语介词，后接名词或名词短语。
He can't go to school because of his leg.
由于他的腿他不能去上学。
【易错点】
①Why not＋ v．...？为什么不做……呢？
e.g.Why not go with me 为什么不和我一块去呢？
②why 引导的特殊疑问句，有时相当于 what...for 句式，二者可以转换。
Why does he come here？＝What does he come here for？他为什么来这儿？
考点 2：bored 和 boring 辨析
【原文】 Peter doesn’t like maths because it’s boring.
彼得不喜欢数学，因为它很无聊。
【用法】 bored 和 boring 意思都是无聊的，都是形容词，但它们的用法不同。
1.bored 修饰人或人作主语时用。意思是：“感到厌烦的，无聊的”
（1）The movie was so boring! I was bored. 电影太无聊，使我感到无聊。
（2）The class was so boring! I was bored. 课程太无聊，使我感到无聊。
考点 2：bored 和 boring 辨析
【用法】 boring 修饰物或物作主语时用。但根据句子或上下文意思也可用人作主语。意思是“枯燥的，无聊的，厌倦的，令人厌烦的“。
（1）The movie was boring. 电影很无聊。
（2）The class was boring. 课程很无聊。
考点 3：favorite 的用法
【用法】① favorite adj. “最喜欢的，特别喜欢的”。
Sunday is our favorite day. We can go to the park.
星期天是我们最喜欢的一天。我们可以去公园。
② favorite n. “最喜欢的人或物”，其复数形式是favorites。
These books are my favorites. 这些书是我最喜欢的。

考点 3：favorite 的用法
【易错点】favorite 与like 都有＂喜爱＂的意思，但它们的词性不同，在句子中所处的位置也不同，favorite 常与 like...best 互换。
e.g. His favorite sport is basketball.= He likes basketball best.
他最喜欢的运动是篮球。
