California passed a new law to restrict.(限制) student smartphone use recently. School districts are required to pass rules by July 1,2026. The new rules should restrict or ban(禁止)students from using smartphones on school grounds or while students are under the supervision of school employees. The law makes California the latest state to try to reduce student phone access. Florida, Louisiana, Indiana, and several other 'states have already passed laws aimed at restricting student phone use at school
The new law is aimed at helping students focus on schoolwork, social development, and the world in front of them, not their screens, when they're in school. It is also meant to address the mental health effects that social media can have on children.
But some people have raised worries that school cellphone bans could cut parents off from their children if there is an emergency(紧急情况)!And an official said that many of the students do not always like the rules, which is in part a sign of how hooked they have become to phones.
The new law comes after an earlier law of the state that was passed in 2019. The 2019 law allowing school districts to restrict student' phone access makes exceptions for emergencies. The new law does not change that.
ShaKenya Edison from the Santa' Barbara Unified School' District, which put in place a ban on student phone use in class during the 2023-to-2024 school year, said teachers have noted that their students have been less distracted(注意力分散的)in class since the start of the ban. Tarik McFall, head teacher of Sutter Middle School in Folsom, said that' before his school's cellphone ban, students recorded fights, filmed entertainment videos and spent lunchtime looking at their phones. “The ban has totally changed the culture of the school. To have them put away, to have them power off... it has been a great thing,” McFall said.

Scientists in Brazil recently announced the discovery of one of 'the world's oldest reptile fossils(爬行动物化石).They say the fossils date back to around 237 million years ago.
The four-legged reptile species is called Gondwanax paraisensis, researchers recently announced in a statement. The animal is believed to have been near the size of a small dog, with a long tail. When I was just a little kid, my parents arranged for me to learn to play the piano. Every Saturday, my dad would drive me to my piano lessons, and I would watch the world outside the window, seeing dogs running around and sniffing flowers. I longed for their freedom and pure joy.
During my childhood, my life was filled with piano lessons, practicing at home, and playing at various concerts. My hands would move over the keys, and people would smile and clap(鼓掌)when I played a nice tune. But to be honest, I didn't really enjoy it that much. I just wanted to get good grades and please my mom. However, my parents kept saying everything I learned would influence me in some way in the future.
When I turned 14 ,I had got many certificates(南步)for playing the piano. When I was16, my parents bought me an expensive piano and I thought maybe they hoped I would become a pianist one day. But even though I kept practicing and going to music classes on Saturdays, I never really felt excited about it.
After I finished high school, I stopped playing the piano, which just sat there, quiet and unused in the corner. I sometimes complained to my parents for expecting so much from me, and wondered why they wouldn't let me enjoy the complete play and joy in my childhood as I wished. When I stopped playing, my relatives would sometimes talk about how I wasted my talent, which made me feel like I wasn't good at anything else.
But then things changed. Several years ago, I moved from California to Chicago for work, and it was a new place for me, where sometimes I felt really lonely. I started to miss the old times, especially the sound of the piano. It made me feel less homesick. So, I decided to pick up the piano again in Chicago.
注意:
1.续写词数应为150个左右;
2.请按如下格式在答题卡的相应位置作答。
At first, it was kind of unfamiliar to play the piano again.
Now, I finally understand why my parents made me learn the piano.

M:Welcome to the museum tour. Please allow me to express a warm welcome and I'm honored to show you around. First I will go over the map with you in the hall in case you get lost. Do not worry if you get lost. You can ask one of our staff members for directions. After we get out of the hall, our first stop will be the Egyptian section. This one has our oldest art in it. Next, I will take you to the Asian art and ancient objects on the left. This is my favorite section, because each piece has a wonderful story. The tour's last part will be the European section. We have borrowed some of those items from the National Museum! The first thing you should notice is the writing below each piece. I will speak about most things, but you can also check the information there. No photo is to be taken here, so please turn off your cameras. Most importantly, please do not touch any of the art! The oil on your hands will damage these ancient objects!

The events ranged from sprints, long-distance races, the high jump, the long jump, to relay races. Athletes from various grades actively competed in these events. The sports meet highlighted the relay races, in which all team members worked very well with each other.
The sports field was filled with excitement, with students cheering on their classmates and teachers offering encouragement from the sidelines. We can't wait to look forward to the arrival of the next year's event.

参考范文:
At first, it was kind of unfamiliar to play the piano again. My fingers weren't as fast as they used to be, and I had to think about how to play. I wondered how I used to play so easily. I felt regretful that I had stopped playing for so long. But this time, instead of running from it, I started playing the piano every day. Slowly, the familiar touch returned. It was as if I was meeting an old friend after a long separation. And most importantly, I wasn't lonely anymore whenever I played the piano.
Now, I finally understand why my parents made me learn the piano. I am aware that they were just trying to give me opportunities to learn new things, hoping it would help me later in my life. And they were right-the music from the piano has brightened up my new life. Playing the piano is no longer just mastering an instrument to me, but it is a bridge to my past and a companion in my present. I'm really thankful to my parents for everything they did for me.
