Do you find getting up in the morning so difficult 1 But Dr. Kleitman has a new explanation(解释). He believes
that everyone has a daily energy (活力) cycle (周期).
During the hours when you work, you may say that you're "hot". That's true. The time of day when you are full of energy is when your cycle of body temperature(温度) is at the highest point. 2 For others it comes in the afternoon or evening. No one has found out why this is so, but it leads to such similar words as: "Get up, John! You'll be late for work again!" 3 Maybe it is because John is at the highest point of his temperature and energy in the evening. Many family fights end when husbands and wives know what these energy cycles mean, and which cycle each member of the family has.
You can't change your energy cycle, but you can learn to make your life fit it better. 4 Maybe you're sleepy in the evening but feel you must stay up late. If so, staying up later than you want to may counteract(抵消) your cycle. If your energy is low in the morning but you have an important job to do early in the day, get up before your usual hour. 5 But you can feel better and work better at your low point.
A. It won't change your cycle. B. We might call this laziness. C. Dr. Kleitman believes habit can help. D. Is the daily energy cycle so important E. What is the possible explanation for this trouble F. For some people this point comes during the morning.

三、阅读表达(共10小题;计20分)
A. 完成图表 根据短文内容,完成图表格中所缺信息。(共5小题;每小题2分,计10分)
Why did ancient Chinese emperors call themselves zhen (朕) or guaren (寡人) Research shows that the word zhen used to be a first-person pronoun (代词). Before the Qin Dynasty, it meant “I” or “me” and everyone from farmers to rulers could use it. The word can be found in books like Li Sao and Shi Jing.
However, when Qin won all the other six states and unified (统一) China, Qinshihuang, the first emperor in Chinese history, changed how this word could be used. He told the country that only the emperor himself could use zhen. Since then, the word has been used only for rulers.
Chinese emperors also called themselves guaren. In ancient China, emperors believed they had a
“Mandate of Heaven (天命)” to rule. However, if the “Son of Heaven” had poor morals (德行), they would lose the mandate. So, the rulers used the word guaren, meaning “a person who doesn’t have morality”. In this way, they could show their modesty (谦虚). Modesty is a virtue (美德). Ancient rulers called themselves guaren to show their virtue and hoped to be popular among the people.
However, history shows that the emperors didn’t use guaren very often after the Tang Dynasty. The emperors of the following dynasties more often used zhen.
B. 任务型阅读 根据短文内容,按要求回答问题。(共5小题,每小题2分,计10分)
China is large and has a big population(人口). So, the different living habits of people around the country have always been an interesting topic. Now, we want to tell you some differences in one living habit from south to north.
People from southern China say they always buy what they need for just one or two meals. It is common for them to buy half of a Chinese cabbage, two potatoes and 250 grams of beef at a time. However, one may be laughed at if he does this in the north. Buying vegetables and meat as much as they need for a week is common, reported China Daily.
Also, you can buy fruit as much as you like, such as an apple or a pear, each time in the south. Shop owners even help you peel (削皮) and cut the fruit. But shop owners in the north hardly do these. And many fruits are sold just in baskets and boxes.
What’s the reason for these differences Food can be kept for a long time in the north, as it is usually cold and dry there. Many northerners have the habit of stocking up (囤货) on food, especially for the long winter. But the hot and wet weather in the south makes southern Chinese people buy just enough food for one meal or one day, or else the food may go bad.
What living habit does the writer talk about in the passage (no more than 8 words)
How do people in northern China buy food (one word)
They buy food for a week.
What is the difference of fruit selling in the south and north (no more than 2 words)
What is the big difference in the habit from north to south (one word)
How long they keep the food .
What causes the big difference in the two groups (no more than 5 words)

From February to October, there were changes in a homeless cat in our neighborhood.
In the beginning, each time I tried to walk close to her, she ran away, so I decided to set her free.but something strange happened in October. A week ago, this homeless cat became a friend of my daughter Cindy’s. Each time Cindy walked over, the cat welcomed her.
It happened day after day until this morning when Cindy left her a bowl of can food. I guess that ended the cat’s homeless life because Cindy even started calling the cat “Sunny”. I thought Sunny would like to be a cat in our home because she seemed to want Cindy to be her forever friend.
