连接词 作用 例句
that 本身无意义，在从句中不充当成分，只起连接作用，常常可以省略。 Cathy said (that) Kate was good at singing.
if /whether 意为“是否”，在从句中不充当成分，不能省略。 He asked me if / whether Mrs. Green was a reporter.
what, who, whose, whom, which 有意义，在从句中充当一定的成分，如作主语、宾语、定语等，不能省略。 I wonder who found the lost child.
when, where, why, how 有意义，在从句中充当一定的成分，作状语，不能省略。 Could you tell me where you are from
2. 语序
宾语从句要用陈述句语序。
3. 时态
如果主句是现在的某种时态，则宾语从句的时态可根据实际情况而定；如果主句是过去的某种时态，则宾语从句一般要用相应的过去的某种时态。但是，如果宾语从句表述的是客观真理或自然现象，不论主句是什么时态，宾语从句只能使用一般现在时。
探究二 感叹句
用来表达喜、怒、哀、乐等强烈感情的句子叫感叹句。感叹句一般用what或how引导，句末用感叹号。what修饰名词，how修饰形容词或副词。
what引导的感叹句：
1. What + a / an +形容词 + 可数名词单数(+主语+谓语)! 如：

【提示】
一般情况下，以what和how开头的感叹句可以相互转换，转换后意义不变。如：

1) Bill thinks that the races were not that interesting to watch.
彼尔认为比赛看起来并不是那么有趣。
句中两个that的意义及所表达的功能都不同。第一个that是连接词，引导的陈述句作宾语从句，本身没有任何意义。第二个that是副词，修饰形容词interesting意为“如此，那么”。
